I support Obama's equalizing relations with Cuba

Cuban cigars are terrible. Their best are about par with an average Dominican.
Not even close to supporting. We cannot control the borders (anywhere) as it is now so why not let them in. As the saying goes if you can't beat them join them. This will just go down as another bright move by DA' MAN.
"Carnival Corporation has won U.S. approval to operate cruises to Cuba and plans to start taking travelers there in May 2016, joining a growing list of maritime companies hoping to profit from a thaw in relations between Washington and Havana.
Miami-based Carnival, the world's largest cruise operator, said it was still in talks with Cuba for approval to start humanitarian and culturally themed visits there.
Americans are still banned from going to Cuba as tourists but are allowed to go there for a dozen approved motives such as visiting family or participating in academic, professional, religious or educational programs."

DonDiego is in no hurry to visit the Pearl of the Antilles.

Perhaps in a few years, preferably after significant development of comfortable seaside resorts and showrooms and casinos restore the island to the debauchery of the mid-20th Century. He wouldn't mind picking up an old 50's-something Chrysler if it has been well maintained.
Of course Cuban refugees have always gotten automatic residency in this country while refugees living under much worse conditions have been turned away. Because of Florida electoral votes.

thegreek is pretty funny sometimes.

Like how a babbling infant is kind of funny.

A border? With Cuba? You know it's an island, right? 90 miles or so from Florida? With about 66 miles of international waters in the middle?

Let them in? We've had an open door to Cubans for decades. If they can make it to dry land in the US, they get permanent residency. How are we not already letting them in? If they can get here, they're in!

How could someone not know this?
Yup. Isis is the "JV team". Strike a nuke deal with Iran. Normalize relations with Cuba. Don't get me wrong, the people are okay. But the rulers are invertebrates. Normalize our relations any more, and we'll be on par with plankton.
We all agree that Cuba is lead by terrible people and that sanctions where to cause an improvement in this area. Sanctions began in 1951, and I'm curious when you folks believe that the desired effects will kick in? What is certain is that that the terrible leaders live lavishly, and 11,200,000 innocent Cuban citizens to live in desperate poverty.

I miss Ricky Ricardo!
Bring on the mojitos, plantains, and Cuban sandwiches.

Compared with leaders of the United states for the last 60 years or so? You must be kidding.

The ONLY reason we had a problem with Castro was that he oppressed Standard Oil and United Fruit Company.

The US has been downright eager to support governments who tortured political opponents, "disappeared" thousands of people, raped and murdered nuns, threw victims out of helicopter, etc., in El Salvador, Guatemala, Chile, and elsewhere.....as long as they did NOT oppress Standard Oil and United Fruit Company. And with Saudi Arabia as our current BFF, we have no business criticizing other countries when it comes to human rights.

Casto won - and he deserved to. The United States lost - and we deserved to. Actually, for our support of human rights violations all over the world, we deserved much worse.

Forky has managed to sink to a new low.

Under the Castros more than 1 million people have fled the country by any means possible. Thousands have been imprisoned & others have been killed simply for opposing the govt. There are no free elections, but forky has the nerve to compare the Castros to American presidents.
