I wish there were new VP games

Ever thought of designing a Video Poker Game ???

I'd like to create a new version for Deuces Wild,
where if you had a flush with the right suited Deuce, then you would get 1,000 credits (just like a Royal would pay).

For example; You hold 10c, Jc, 4c, and draw the 6c and the Deuce of Clubs for a Flush (with a suited Deuce).
It could make for some interesting plays, especially if you were dealt 2 suited cards and 2 Deuces (with one Deuce matching the suited cards)

If you were to design a new VP game what would it be like ?

Reverse Quick Quads.....instead of adding up two cards to give you a possible 4 OAK, you would subtract.

7,7,7,10,3 would be a good example.

I'm always getting the right cards for the wrong game.....4 aces playing JoB.....you get the drift.

I'd tell you, but if I did, and they actually made the game, I might not get the royalties I would deserve.

So, I ain't tellin.

But, it's good! Been working on it for at least 3-5 minutes.
There used to be "Barbaric Deuces", where if you were dealt Deuces you would get extra $$,

....... so much $ for 1 Deuce, more $$ for 2 Deuces, and even more $$$ for 3 Deuces,

then if you were dealt 4 Deuces you got the biggest $$$$, plus the regular 4 Deuces payout.

They had these machines at the Hard Rock and haven't seen them anywhere else.

It was in the day before TITO.
When Deuces were dealt, the "bonus" coins automatically dropped prior to you selecting your hold cards.

Kinda Cool !!!

I believe The ElCo still has one of these, or at least did about a year ago. As I recall it was 6000 for dealt quad deuces.

I considered video poker game design a few years ago, but never got anywhere with it. Tried to find the right department at IGT to submit ideas to, but got the runaround.

The main theme of my games was to give royal flushes the same pay as straight flushes. I believe I was using 200 coins per coin bet. I was then able to adapt this pay to common games (JoB, DB, DDB, etc.) by adjusting other items on the pay schedule to get the games at or just under 100% payback.

The idea of grouping RFs in with SFs was to have a game at the dollar level that never required play stoppage for W-2Gs.

This was right before high tech games like MultiStrike, Spin Poker, and Times Pay came out. So am guessing that the industry wasn't too thrilled by something as pedestrian as new pay schedules. But maybe times are changing again.

Thanks, I'll check it out and see, but I won't be there until May..... Aghhhh.

Over at vp.com there was thread a couple of years ago where they ask for new ideas. You might want to search for that and add your idea. Action Gaming runs vp.com and they also develop new games.
Thanks Arci .....

I'm wondering if one's idea is incorporated into manufacturing a new game/machine if they would give you anything. LOL

The thing is, video poker isn't anything like poker. People who actually play poker abhor it.

People who do play poker will also play BJ, because of the strategic elements involved.

I think VP could be improved by adding some competitive game type elements. I think video Pai Gow would be a good attempt. I'm not sure whether giving the VP player a chance to adjust the bet is really workable.

Possibly something as simple as allowing the player to try for a double after making a particular hand or better. Or, for example, after a good hand, the player could be allowed to wager the win on whether two or more of a selected suit would come up on a clean draw. This could be a separate section of the machine.
