I would be interested in hearing different views on Jane Huberts You Tube comments on Jada Smith and others

Personally, I have boycotted the Oscars for years because the Academy does not reflect my values. Somehow, this did not get the same attention.

For those who do not know to what jazzlover is referring, as DonDiego did not 3 minutes ago, here's the lowdown:

Much as he has tried to formulate a view on this issue, . . . poor old DonDiego finally realizes he has none, . . . and is unlikely to form one any time in the foreseeable future.

I have found tv to have better quality shows than the movies, which are usually retreads of older movies.

it seems like the academy has a very short memory. Anything that aired before Thanksgiving is ignored. So its a three hour ceremony to honor the best picture/performances from December.

Somehow, I think 13 hours (the Benghazi movie) will be ignored next year --- maybe for the reason outlined by Pjstroh, or maybe for other reasons....

The good news is Michael Moore has also decided to boycott the Oscars. I would not want to sit next to him.

I'm boycotting the Oscars too as the Academy completely ignored my magnum opus, Professor Willy's Vegas Vacation.

Good News: Michael Moore not showing up does free up 3 chairs.

Bad News: The after show dinner party caterer has laid off 4 servers.

Indeed, poor old DonDiego understands alanleroy's depression in not even being considered by the pompous jerks at the Academy of Arts and Sciences.

If DonDiego may suggest, . . . a submission of Professor Willy's Vegas Vacation to the X-Rated Critics Organization for consideration in the XRCO Award competition might be in order.
XRCO specifically has an "Amateur or Pro-Am Series" category into which Professor Willy might fit, . . . not that it is any of DonDiego's business where Professor Willy fits. alanleroy's chances of scoring an award might be pretty good as, according to wikipedia, there has been no winner in this category since 2006's New Whores 2 !
