If One Needs an Excuse to PARTY . . .

. . . this heh' British fella from the University of Nottingham and his, as best DonDiego can determine Serbian, friend at University of Calfornia, Davis have concluded that, . . . eventually, . . . the entire Universe is gonna slow down expanding and then start contracting and it'll all end in a "big crunch".
Or as they put it: "[The] Universe may be on he brink of collapse . . .". ON THE BRINK ! ! !

Ref: phys.org (See! See there ! That there web-page on the internets is so worried 'bout this heh' Universe collapsin' they don't even have the time to spell-out "physics.org" !)

So we don't have to worry about global warming?
Will this result in man-made global warming?

. . .Their calculations suggest that the collapse is "imminent"—on the order of a few tens of billions of years or so . . .

We don't have much time!! LET'S PARTY ! ! !

Another spin from higher academia on the book of Revelations?

Could be, who knows? LOL

Its party time somewhere.
I don't need another reason to party, as I'm a lifelong Cubs fan. There's always this year! Maybe after this season I'll need another reason to party but, as for now, I'm fine.

Is it 5 o'clock somewhere?
I guess I better clean up all my junk and take it to the dump to make more room, or else it'll be awfully crowded in 10 billion years.

Back in the 70's that was one of the 3 theories of the universe. Steady state, contracting, expanding. (the contracting theory was the one that held that the universe expanded and contracted but was now on a contraction phase)
