If there were an apocalypse, what type of weapons would you want?

DD, if you recall, any .357 will fire .38 cal rounds.

DonDiego is less concerned about the bullet and recoil than he is about the weight/bulk of the Redhawk.

Can you kill a zombie with a cross bow bolt to the head?
No recoil and silent.
More difficult to carry than a hand gun.
A Kentucky tooth pick in her boot may come in handy.

Wait a minute !

Did somebody say "Zombies" ? ? ?

Here's what one needs for the Zombie Apocalypse.

And it's available in the caliber of one's choice.

No, no, no. This is all one needs in case of zombies, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a few zombie rounds laying around either.

You might want to stop in a local gun store and present the question. The clerks and regulars will be a wealth of info. As a former 19 y/o woman (now MUCH older), I was / am partial to a .38 special as a handgun, and a .22 rifle as a squirrel gun for meat.
I suppose the choice of weapon depends on personality types in some way. For example, introverts might select high powered rifles so they don't have to mingle too much. Extroverts might select paring knives to enhance for the personal touch.
.410 5 shot pistol? Too big? Too heavy?Too much recoil?
I saw one of these on pawn stars and was a bad ass gun, cannon whatever one likes to call it. If your defending against roving mobs who are mobile and wish to crash your compound, one of these baby's would stop any vehicle short of a tank I believe. Cool weapn.

A one and three pound shell! Holy moly, that's some stopping power. Ammo might be a tad difficult to get hold off .

As a first level of defense, clcjim intends to point his index finger and say BANG. Guaranteed to scare away most intruders.

Only if absolutely necessary would clcjim resort to his inventory of actual weapons, with which he believes he could defend his home against most assaults.

clcjim admits that he was never much of a marksman as a young man, but he learned to shoot several weapons fairly well in the Marines. However, clcjim does not own a Gatling gun. If hundreds of invaders decide to attack his house at once, he is probably screwed.

Oh, and clcjim has no idea why he is talking in the third person. Gosh darn it, DonDiego.

HEY! Where are all of the weapons suggestions??????
