If you were to have a friendly bet with a friend, what hotel/casino and buffet would you make them go to if they lose?

I leave this at hotel/casino that have to be downtown or on the strip or no further than half a mile from either. No rat trap motels are to be included.

For hotel, I'm thinking Gold Spike and for buffet I'm thinking of the Riviera.

He lost a bet to me where he had to eat at the Circus Circus buffet, but he got off easy. While the Circus Circus is far from gourmet, it is no longer a buffet that should be the butt of all jokes. The food is now edible there. I want a buffet where he won't get food poisoning, but where the food is well below average.

I give you the "IP".
I think they fixed up Gold Spike. Maybe you could do worse.
Terrible's!!! Ate there one time. The only food that was warm on the whole buffet was the ice cream.

Ray

P.S. I'm not kidding.

I stayed at Terrible's for one night. The rooms were not that bad.
No, not the Gold Spike. It has been remodeled and is actually quite OK. It also has a nice new swimming pool with a cute little waterfall. For a really, really bad room, send him to a VINTAGE room at the El Cortez. But it has to be a Vintage room, the other rooms are way too good for him. Or, as a back up, you could suggest the Vegas Club.

As to bad buffets, I second the nomination of the IP.
The only bad buffet has been off strip. Damn!!

WHAT are you talking about????

Plenty of bad buffets on the Strip!

The obvious first choice is IP. But you can also find bad buffets at Sahara, Riviera, Circus Circus, and for a buffet which is not only bad but also expensive, try the Flamingo.

I haven't eaten at those places, so how can I recommend a place where I don't know what the food tastes like?
I agree, hands down is Imperial Palace!!!
