If your Job got Relocated to Las Vegas?

So one day your sitting at your desk and the boss comes up and said that your will be relocated to Las Vegas and you. In your relocation package would include the cost of movers (a truck, boxes, labor), temporary housing, transportation, car registration, driver's license, pet registration, school enrollment fees. Temporary storage of your belongings if required. You would be making the same amount of money, would you make the jump to moving to vegas to live there? Yes or why not?

Depends on other things ... do you like where you live now? Do you mind leaving friends? Are there other equal paying jobs available? Would the rest of the family object? etc, etc.

Right now Vegas has a lot of low cost housing and the weather is better than many places. Obviously, it has some good entertainment and restaurants. Lots and lots of factors to consider.

given the choice between moving to the desert and not having a job, I would start packing. But I would not relish the idea of trying to sell my house. I would hope that the sal of the current residence would be part of the relo package. Th previous owner of my house was relocated and the relocation company bought the house from him and I bought the house from them, not him.

I would do it. Why not? If you are that valuable to your company I see an opportunity not a risk.

Yes. The only thing that I don't like about Vegas is the low humidity.

The risk to me is that future career opportunities are limited in Nevada as I work in pharma and lots of pharma are in NJ but things are limited Nevada. I'd move anyway. Sometimes change is good.

Hmm, . . . DonDiego suggests that now that the Chagras are gone, . . . there may be plenty of opportunities in pharma in Las Vegas.
