I'm Back...with questions!!

Used to be a member here in the 90's when I used to take my parents to Vegas at least once a year. Now I am married and am taking my wife (her first time) to Vegas in April.....SO, tell me, how much has changed in the last 10 years or so?? What would you say are MUST do's for a Vegas first timer (wife)??
A LOT has changed in the past 10 years. So much that I could not possibly list all the changes. For one, some perfectly good hotel/casinos were blown up in a mad rush to put up something newer, bigger, better.

Then 2008 came. The property where those good hotel/casinos were located now sits empty and abandoned. (Stardust, Frontier, Westward HO). The Sahara has shuttered it's doors.

City Center managed to open up in the last few years (well, almost all of City Center opened up. There is the cluster&%#@ known as the Harmon Hotel, which is a part of City Center, that may or may not be blown up)

Must sees......I would think Bellagio Fountains would be on that list. Perhaps a visit to downtown for the Fremont Street Experience should also be included.

I'm sure there are many more that other posters can add.
The buffet at Boardwalk has closed.
Someone told me that the Strip hotels are Downtown and that the Downtown hotels are now on the Strip??

Thank goodness.
I still can't believe I tried it shortly before it closed.

Fountains at Bellagio and their indoor seasonal display are worth a visit. We do this EVERY visit.

You could spend a lot of time just going from place top place to see the various hotels/casinos.

Perhaps you could do one great buffet. Buffets seem synonymous with Vegas. The very pricey Sterling Brunch at Bally's, Bellagio, Wynn are all good choices.

How about one good show? Cirque du Soliel has several to cvhoose from and we love Human Nature at the IIP. Don't let the IP scare you==the show is great!

Have a great trip.

You should seriously think about checking in here more frequently than every 10-12 years. Just sayin'.
My top picks would be:

1. The Conservatory at Bellagio, their ever changing unbelievable floral display; as Teach8 stated, we also do this EVERY trip.

2. The Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian; beautiful indoor water canals and wonderful murals on the walls and ceilings in the Venetian lobby and entrances as well.

3. The Cosmopolitan; the chandelier bar, as well as all the other glass within the casino is breathtaking.

4. The Silverton Casino; the 117,000 salt water fish aquarium at their main entrance is incredible. The Bass Pro Shop located there is pretty interesting as well.....and lastly,

5. The BIG ELVIS show , a free show, afternoons starting at 3:00 in the lounge at Bill's Gambling Hall. If you close your eyes you will think you are truly listening to Elvis sing !

These are my favorites, but I also think that no matter what you do in Las Vegas, you will surely have a great time !

Well the Barbary Coast has changed its name to "The Casino Formerly Known as the Barbary Coast".

Might as well see the new pirate ship battle at T I , formally called Treasure Island.New show is called the Sirens of TI ( I think).Next door at the Mirage you can check out the volcano also.
