I'm moving to Las Vegas

I was a regular on these forums for a few years, but when I started my new business, I cut back on my Vegas travels.
The business is now sold, my house and co-op are for sale and I leave for Vegas in three weeks to go apartment hunting. My thought was to find a short term lease- three to six months while taking my time finding a nice condo.
It's just me and my 75 pound goldendoodle, but I'm finding rental situations are very limited with a big dog.
Anyway, I'm back and hope to be a useful contributor as well as getting some tidbits of information from the folks here.
I'm not really planning on working once I relocate but that may change if the proper situation comes up.
I'm looking for something on the West side of town or in Henderson if anyone has an place they know about.
Congratulations Billy Ryan!

I am not a real estate expert, but a good place to start may be www.zillow.com. You can search by city and then filter by rental properties, pets allowed, and price range. Many of these are homes where a big dog would not be an issue. Many of these folks are renting as they have not been able to sell and you may find a place with a short term lease and a "rent to buy" option if that suits you.
most short-term lease places are furnished - which means they charge more. But good luck. The real estate market has come along way since 2009 in Vegas. Many of the skyrise condos have doubled in price.
I'm looking for a simple townhouse. Just something in a gated community, with pools and a health club. Under 100K.
Im looking for furnished short term. Just need one that will take 75 pounds of fluff.

I moved to Vegas last May.

I can send you the real estate mags that are at the supermarket.

PM me if interested.

I appreciate the offer, but my friend in Summerlin is already supplying me with them.
Would be interested in discussing the move with you.
There are double wides in parks that do not care about the size our dog(s).Way less than 100K.
Renting may be an option also.
It's all about location, but you knew that.
Cheaper if do NOT live in Clark county.
A lot of the forum member have done looking on this ! subject.
You are in the right place.
Go to craigslist.com for Las Vegas and check the boxes for "dogs ok" and "furnished," and you will find many places. Obviously you can also narrow it down by zip code, number of bedrooms, and so on. Unfortunately they don't have a box for short-term rental.

If those don't work and you are willing to buy some interim furniture, lots of unfurnished apartment complexes in Henderson allow big dogs - I know of three in the Whitney Ranch area (near Sunset Station) that have mini dog parks. They will take a larger deposit and charge a monthly pet rent of about $30 or so. And short term leases are available all over. The larger apartment management firms now have sophisticate analytics that tell them how to price those rentals accurately, and they realize they are a profitable market.

Everything else being equal, I'd take Henderson over the West side, because most of Henderson is very near the 95 or the 215. From most West side areas you'll be on surface streets, and a lot of places will seem like a longer haul.

When you're looking to buy, take a look at Boulder City. It's only a half hour from the Strip, but it feels very insulated from the tourist scene, which you will learn to avoid. And at a couple of the restaurant/bars on Nevada Way, your 75 pounds of fluff will be welcome at the outdoor seating. At Milo's they'll feed him.
Thanks for all the replies. What i'm finding is that when places say Dogs allowed, it almost always means small dogs. some places are up to 20 pounds, others are 40 pounds. The only ones I've found that are both short term and allow dogs are in neighborhoods I wish to avoid. I'm not sure I have seen the ones in Whitney Ranch, I shall look into them. Last year I looked into the bungalows built for the Hoover Dam workers. They are cute but pretty outdated.
