Hmm...this thread seems to have run it's course. I was getting some really stellar and differing opinions, but it seems no one is actually reading the question and trying to answer it anymore.
So here's a follow up question on some of your answers.
I expressly stated in the question, "Your goal is to answer as truthfully as possible without confabulation or obfuscation. There is no need to sugar coat the truth or deceive, as you budgeted appropriately for the trip. You simply need to answer the question accurately. "
Even though honesty was a requirement of the test, a huge number of the serious answers I have gotten have suggested distorting the result based on what the wife would say--or made some reference to lying.
What's going on here? The goal of the question was to be honest. Are people not reading the entire post, not taking it seriously, or is the truth simply not in them?
I'm perplexed at some of these answers.
