So here's a follow up question on some of your answers.
I expressly stated in the question, "Your goal is to answer as truthfully as possible without confabulation or obfuscation. There is no need to sugar coat the truth or deceive, as you budgeted appropriately for the trip. You simply need to answer the question accurately. "
Even though honesty was a requirement of the test, a huge number of the serious answers I have gotten have suggested distorting the result based on what the wife would say--or made some reference to lying.
What's going on here? The goal of the question was to be honest. Are people not reading the entire post, not taking it seriously, or is the truth simply not in them?
I'm perplexed at some of these answers.
Oh, and to the several of you who read the whole question, followed the parameters and gave thoughtful answers, thanks very much.
First Frank when dealing with married folks if you don't want things distorted "based upon what the wife would say" then leave the wife out of the question. Why put the wife in there if you don't want any interference from her?
Honesty has many faces Frank, your phrasing of the questions called into what part of being "honest" did you want? There were at least 3 different "honest" answers, each could be truthful depending upon how the question is answered and the perceptions of the person answering the question.
If your asking a question to answer a specific theory, then you need to really know exactly what your looking for before asking the question.
