In my travels...(OT)

In my travels I pass by this roadside diner in Mainesburg, PA many, many times and no matter what time of the day it never had any business. I mean I never saw a car there and now in this part of the country restaurants are doing well because of the upturn due to the Marcellus Shale gas exploration. I saw ads in a local paper for it and also heard radio ads too, it was no help. The food must have been really ousy.

Well, the diner has closed but I was clearly wrong about it never having any business and the owner has made acknowledgement.

He must have been a really big tipper.
I'm confused. Which part had the customer? Was it the Restaurant or the Store?

The restaurant. Quick history of the place. It started out as a small time convenience store with a name of Ted & Mary's or something like that. Well, the "he" must have put the runs to the "she" because her name was spray painted out soon after it opened. Embezzlement, lover's quarrel? Why the name was spray painted out remains a mystery. It closed for a few years and somebody got the bright idea of "hey, there's big bucks in the restaurant trade", apparently not. The place is jinxed.

It might have closed because the customers are probably now all from eating .............
