Income Inequality

The Fallacy of Income Inequality

“What those people who ask for equality have in mind is always an increase in their own power to consume. In endorsing the principle of equality as a political postulate nobody wants to share his own income with those who have less. When the American wage earner refers to equality, he means that the dividends of the stockholders should be given to him. He does not suggest a curtailment of his own income for the benefit of those 95 percent of the Earth’s population whose income is lower than his.” Ludwig Von Mises

Well that certainly puts that baby to bed, doesn't it. I can just see Ludwig making that statement, dropping the Mic and strolling away.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man’s oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. -John Kenneth Galbraith
All things being equal the Michigan punter choked. Lol.

Well, if this were a communist state (the left's perfect society) we the scum, would be making far less than those in charge with NO way of protesting against the state without fear of making a multi-year stay in the state run gulag.

Nah, I'll take something like most of the Scandinavian countries. You know, when it comes to life expectancy, health care, infant mortality, median income, GDP per capita, upward mobility, access to higher education, lack of theocracy, working conditions, and so on.

Come to think of it, socialist President FDR was so popular he got elected four times. And the Republicans passed and constitutional amendment to keep that from happening again.

In the meantime, if you want to live the American Dream, move to Denmark.

GO ahead, I'm sure you'll be happy.

Denmark's unfunded liability to GDP rate is almost 400%, among the highest of developed countries.
Norway's socialism is only successful because of the "Blue Eyed Arabs" oil. They maintain a massive, yet dwindling oil fund which runs the government and supplies retirement subsidies. Like Saudi Arabia, once this dries up, they're shit out of luck.

If oil prices stay where it is for the next decade, Norway's in trouble.
