The inevitable math of healthcare

Life is tough outside the peanut gallery. Empty rhetoric and baseless criticisms don't go far in creating real policy. Republicans are learning this the hard way - and this is a good thing.

Remember that awful "Cadillac Tax" in Obamacare that Republicans hounded at every media event for 8 years? Yeah - turns out that's being floated as one of the primary paying attributes of their "replacement plan" (if you want to call it that at this point). The only difference is you will be paying the Cadillac Tax instead of your employer.

Republicans are driving a pink Cadillac

I guess 8 years of mindless statements about "state lines" and "free markets" didn't really add up to as much savings as they led us to believe.

How can their be a "Cadillac Tax"? After all, every Liberals on this site argued that Obamacare was not, and would not become a wealth redistribution program. Boiler knew that it was, and that it would rapidly become more so.

Does that prove Libs gullible, or liars?

I don't remotely understand your post. Who on this board ever denied the existence of the Obamcare Cadillac tax? And what data are you looking at that suggest the see-saw of wealth distribution has been upended?

Regardless - your fiscal champions in Congress have the same wealth redistribution anchored into their "replacement"....except you will be on the hook for it instead of your employer. Aren't you glad we got a common sense business man in the White House?

I invite you to send a nasty-gram to Paul Ryan and complain.
The first sentence of that article made no sense to me, so I stopped there. Suggests to me that the article is crap from a crappy publication.

My specific topic within this discussion was wealth redistribution.................you know, what virtually every Liberal promised would not happen. The giveaways would be paid by Obamacare savings.

But here we are, just as I promised, talking about taxing Boilerman, and redistributing this money to others.

the Obamacare Cadillac tax does not tax Boilerman. the Republican Cadillac Tax will. So change your complaint from "Obamacare" to "Republicare" and you'll have it right.
Boiler assured this would happen. Most, if not all, Liberals on this site assured me that it would not. Unfortunately, I was correct.

???? what? and who?
The Republican Plan is more like a Chevy Tax rather than a Cadillac tax as anybody who gets their health insurance through their employer will pay this new tax. It is effectively a large middle-class tax hike.
Oh my. PJ doesn't remember Liberals assuring us that all the free shit to be given away would be paid for with Obamacare savings? I remember hearing this, and lots and lots of others remember also. Apparently PJ's memory is fading with age.

I can't say with certainty that PJ claimed this, but most Liberals on this site did.
