Internet gaming questions?

Does anyone here have any internet gaming experiences? Good or bad, deposits, payouts, etc? I'm looking forward to the 2014 NFL and college football games starting in August and would like to get in on the action. I'm researching Bovada and Sportsbook.ag, and it looks like Western Union/Money Gram might be the best way to make a deposit and/or withdraw (if I can get lucky). Some of the rules/policies/fees of these online sites seem ridiculous. Such as a deposit fee (can only be done once a month or 24 hour period in some instances), withdrawal fee (ie, minimum withdrawal $3000), dormant fees (non-activity for 30 days gets another fee added), etc. Bovada seems more withdrawal friendly requiring only a minimum of $300 per month, although the withdrawal fee is about 10%, quite high in my opinion. Can anyone provide other insights? Do you know of anyone getting arrested? This last question would be my greatest concern, I wouldn't want the law to come knocking on my door (lol).
Don't know of any arrests but why would anybody send money to an offshore gambling facility where there is no accountability, no law-backed requirements, and no recourse if you have any kind of problems? It just adds another layer of risk to gambling. If you are playing with any kind of edge then the extra unneeded risk wipes that out IMHO. I think the only reason you see all those flashy ads on certain gaming-related sites are because it supplies income to those who just can't win but claim they do. Stay away from these places.
years back I had an account with "guardian guarantee" which I bet football. They had bonus money for deposits and withdrawing your money was effortless. After a couple of years and worrying about gaming laws I gave it up. If I were to do it again, I would check them out first. It was simple to place a bet on any game.
I don't remember any penalties for hold over money or withdrawing fees.

Another ignorant post by albeadle - he is much better off sticking to his racist and homophobic rants.
There are definitely reputable online betting sites, just as there are reputable online poker rooms. You're definitely a huge favorite to not be arrested!
Do your research and you'll probably do just fine, surfer.....

Over a decade ago, prior to the UIGEA taking effect, I had accounts at several poker sites, most of which also had bookmaking available. I never had any difficulties withdrawing. I only had to make one deposit per site, as I was a winning player overall, and also paid to play as a proposition player for some poker games of my choice.

Than, UGIEA took hold, Netteller was seized, the banks and credit card companies disallowed any monetary transfers to gaming sites, etc etc. Fortunately, I had become pretty much a non presence by than.

I am not a sports bettor, but do know some bookies. I would never recommend any offshore site for placing wagers. It is still illegal to do so, and although I've never heard of any arrests, or seizures recently, don't want to risk it.

Instead, IF I had to bet, I'd either visit Vegas, or have a friend who would get me down for "action" at a legal Nevada sportsbook. Perhaps another forum member you know and trust.

BAGiant does, I believe, use offshore services. Perhaps if you get in touch with him, you could get some answers.

JMHO, of course.

Until the UGIEA is overturned, I wouldn't trust putting my money into any online sites that aren't in states like Nevada where internet gaming accounts are legal for residents of the state, and you have to actually be a resident.

Back when it was still legal, I played a lot of low stakes poker on Poker Stars. I still play on Poker Stars for fun money. I play in weekly tournaments with fellow members of a casino collectibles club. It's still fun, but it'd be more fun if there were a few bucks involved....
