IP update

Thinking about staying at the old roach motel, how bad is the linq construction right now? Going in a few weeks.
Just got back from Las Vegas 2 days ago - we stayed at the IP our first night there. Room was clean, bed comfortable. We arrived about 10 pm due to flight delays, etc but we were given a room near the back - we could look out the balcony to the pool. Room was quiet, no noise from the Carneval Court at Harrah's or construction.

The only thing I didn't like was because of the construction the shuttle/taxis drop you off in the underground parking area and you end up entering the casino via the hallway coming from the back of the building as if you were taking the monorail. We found the signage directing you to check in very poor - had to ask people walking by where it was. In fact , the next day, when we were catching a taxi to go downtown we opted to walk over to Harrah's with our suitcase to get a cab rather that try to find our way back through the "bowels of the hotel" to the pick up/drop off area. Walking next door to Harrah's was no major problem - there is a well lit area to take you from the casino out to the Las Vegas strip and you basically walk the same way you did before to get to Harrah's - only difference is the stores on the right hand side are gone and replaced by plywood "walls". Still a couple of vendors just outside of Harrah's by the Carneval Court.

The casino itself was fine - lots of people playing table games and slots. Did not eat on the premises
We also just got back. The exterior facade of the IP is totally torn down...looks like a bombed out building in a WWII movie, if that would bother you.

From our window at Bellagio we could see a crane with wires going from Ballys, across Paris to Planet Hollywood. This morning the crane and wires were gone. Have no idea what was going on.
We are going to Las Vegas the last weekend in November. Was thinking about staying at the IP. I'm kind of leary after reading all the reviews on Yelp. Is it really that bad? We don't need much, just a clean room. Does anyone stay there?

Just got back 2 days ago from IP after 5 nights. Currently things are business as usual there. Durimg the day could hear the construction in room but was easily drowned out with ac. The casino floor looks the same with a long hallway connecting to the strip. Talk to employees who said major changes to casino will start after the holidays. They said Sportsbook will be in the front of the casino and current sportsbook location being turned into a night club. Behind the IP the base of ferris wheel is completed and Linq construction where old OSheas is moving along as well. We didnt find anything too inconvient but were told Jan/Feb is when casino floor major changes will begin. Bartender said after project is completed the only thing that will remain from IP are Dealertainers.....good luck

That bad huh?

Well they still give you 2 sticks at check-in....

1 to hold up the corner of your bed...

1 to beat back the rats
Wow. That's funny. Are you a professional comedian.?
Stayed there thru the 14th of Nov. No noise from construction/destruction. Poker room has trouble getting games going as not enough players and location up by sports book is not well known. New location for poker room is supposed to be next to Fat Tuesdays.
Stayed there a week ago..place was mobbed on the weekend..rooms were clean (rats?)..staff was nice... value & location works..staff said rooms to be updated in 2015 after Linq is complete....IP offers downtown fun vibe w excellent drink service. They dont advertise fine dining or upscale accomdations..They have a Fat Tussdays on the casino floor for god sakes....Give the old lady a break..she must be doing something right.
