Is anyone ready for Nascar?

Drag racing is better! What is fun about watching 42 white (+ Juan) rich boys drive around in a circle for three hours trying to find the finish line?

Before anyone pops a vein, I work in drag racing, and have worked in both Cup and Indy racing. I appreciate all forms of motorsports, but drag racing is the most competitive and diverse (young and old, men and women, race and ethnicity) form of motorsports.
Good call Bob. NASCAR isn't the only motor sport. The power in drag racing out weighs that of NASCAR. I'm still amazed how the rear tires of a rail balloon up and wrinkle when the tree goes green.

Seriously I think Juan Pablo will make a good run for the title, and Bowyer to be the runner-up. Junior, in my opinion, has too much in his "endorsement life" to think about his racing life. To bad because his has the talent to win. Smoke will fluster but come back later in the season and make a great charge for the chase and miss it by 6 points. Yes 6 points, I should have placed a wager.

Juan Pablo will never get close to winning the championship. He reminds me of Robby Gordon with just a little bit more talent. May win a road course race but that's about it.

Still think that it will be Hamlin or Kyle Busch winning it this year if he can control himself. Same for Catchfence Carl. Ryan Newman I think can be a contender if he stays consistent. JJ can't win it every year and I think this year his luck runs out.

I also think that this year is a breakout year for Joey Logano as he will wins some races and make the chase. I also think Jeff Burton does not.

Dale Jr. Forget about it
I agree with some of the statements made on this thread so far.

1- Jimmie Johnson better not win another CUP. (No 6-peat!)

2- Dale Junior SUCKS! Its not because he is busy with endoresements...he just sucks as a driver. He won races when his daddy pushed him, or blocked for him, and he got lucky a couple of other times. The dude is in the best equipment, and he can't finish a race! He has no talent...its just the name.

3- Hamlin or Kyle are definitley the ones with the equipment and talent to take over the cup this year.

4- Montoya is not a bum...that dude has been improving every year and is now in some good cars, that run well. JuanPablo will be in the winners circle on an OVAL track this year....you heard it hear first. I don't think he can win the cup...but he will make the chase this year...you watch!

5-Newman and Stewart need to work together better....if they can do that and stop helping the Hendricks teammates win another cup....they will both be in the chase this year as well.

Man I can't wait for this season to start!!

Nascar in Vegas March 4th, 5th and 6th! YEEE HAWWW!!

I've been working in drag racing since 1995. It still amazes me that a 500 cubic inch V-8 engine can develop 8,000 horsepower, and it is even more amazing that that much horsepower can be transferred through a 1-speed transmission to two rubber tires and actually have those tires hook up! 0-100 miles per hour in 0.8 seconds! 275 miles per hour at 660-feet and they're still accelerating!

43 cup cars are loud. A pair of top fuel dragsters launching off the line can be measured on the Richter scale. That noise sets off car alarms in the parking lot! It is physically disturbing....and a lot of fun to experience!
If Montoya were to win on a oval track I think it would be at Indy or Pocono. That seems to be where he is best tracks are.
I am more than ready. Glad they simplified the points system.
I already know Jimmie Johnson will have another successful season. Will he win another championship? With the new point system in place, maybe.

That being said, I've been on the JJ bandwagon since before he was a Nascar household name. I followed him in the early 2000s when he was just moving his way into the Sprint cup series. He has the most talented crew chief in my opinion and he can handle himself the best under the most pressure.

I will root for Jimmie over any other driver out there but I will not be heartbroken at all if someone else is crowned champion this year. Kasey Kahne is *very* overdue for a good season. Cousin Carl also. I don't think even Jimmie would cry himself to sleep after this season if he didn't come in first again. He appears to be humble and generous enough to share the wealth with someone else.
