Is City Center snake bit?

From restaurant closures, suicide at the Cosmo, the Vdara death ray, massive red ink, to now having a building (The Harmon) being declared unsafe for an earthquake, the closure of the Crystals nightclub, and possible Legionnaire's Disease at the Aria.

I say implode the whole thing.

July 14, 2011 Bad Week for CityCenter: The Strip "metaresort" continues to face a challenging week, with the closure of the nightclub at Crystals, an unsafe verdict for the Harmon tower, and now news of an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease at Aria.

In what the informational web page the property has set up explains is "an abundance of caution," guests who stayed at the hotel from June 21 to July 4 are being notified that they may have been exposed to the Legionella bacteria after elevated levels were found in several guest rooms. The few guests who did contract the disease, which is a form of pneumonia, have all been treated and recovered, according to the site.

thats hysterical - oceans 13 should sue them for ripping off their story line.

the cosmopolitan isnt a part of city center.

You are correct. Actually when I thought the Cosmo was part of City Center (because of where it is located), I thought the Cosmo was the only decent thing in the group.

I want to thank you. Now I can dislike everything in City Center.
glad i could help!

Well since Citycenter is, for me, the epitome of a soulless, heartless, faux-luxury property that Vegas is obviously going to continue to build, I'm always thrilled to hear bad news. Are people still turned on by "celebrity chefs" and "celebrity owned clubs" (please) and "ultra lounges" and................................. I'm really nostalgic for the era of 70's and 80's Las Vegas. I'd be happy to see all these new places get swallowed up by the sands.
It certainly hasn't been easy going for City Center since it opened.

But it's hard for me to dislike the place completely as they are home to Viva Elvis....
I'm not a big fan of City Centre either but the last thing the strip needs is another vacant building surrounded by construction fencing.

You always see the glass as half full, don't you?

And what do you suppose "the sands" would put in? Celebrity chefs, celebrity owned clubs, and ultra lounges. A CC failure would affect people like you and I who aren't nuts about the place but derive benefits from its success. A rising tide floats all boats.
I happen to like City Center. Cool place to hang out if you don't spend money there, as everything is expensive. Now that I hear about the Aria, I will be steering clear away. I'm only 35 and I have had neumonia 5 times in my life already. I don't need it again.
