Islamic State in Libya ? ? ?

"We are helpless and not being able to do anything against this deliberate destruction to the oil installations. I urge the swift formation of a national unity government and the establishment of a unified force structure capable of bringing peace to this country and protecting its natural resources,”
__Mustafa Sanallah, chairman of Libya's National Oil Co.

'β€œIt is a very difficult situation. Pray for us.”
__Ali al-Hassi, spokesman for the Petroleum Facilities Guards

It seems the Islamic State in Libya [aka ISIS's southern affiliate] is now in the process of destroying the oil production facilities of Libya.

What ever happened to that strongman who used to be the Prime Minister of Libya, . . . Muammar al-Gaddafi, . . . or Khaddafi, . . . or something?
Oh wait DonDiego remembers now. The United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton decided he had to go, . . . and so the US supported rebels against him, and they ultimately hunted him down, killed him by sodomizing him with a wooden stake, and then shot him for good measure.
Too bad, . . . there's little to stand in the way of ISIS now.

Ahh, . . . well. It seems Nature does abhor a vacuum, . . . and ISIS is happy to fill the vacancy.
Sometimes you really do have to be careful what you wish for. It certainly does appear the US has been about the worst thing for world peace.
DonDiego has come a long, long way from his days of support for "Dictator musical chairs" in the MIddle East. There may be hope for him yet.

If there is any bright side to Libya its that it didn't cost trillions of dollars, thousands of US soldiers lives, billions in US Soldier medical care, and whatever value you assign the cost of PTSD affecting thousands of US troops. But that doesn't excuse military meddling. I wouldn't argue Khadafi was a better leader than what they have now. But it proves the point that military intervention in the Middle East doesn't transform the region into a bright, shiny city on a hill.

(And you might want to inform the current crop of GOP presidential candidates of this fact - most of them are aching to implement this formula in Iran)

While I'm not crazy about boots on the ground over there, there are many countries affected by the Islamic State that are fighting them, it's not the US alone. While there's always been terrorism, they've taken it to another level and it might be inevitable. Countries have to take a stand and eliminate the IS. I believe it's an end game for them, so it will never quit or stop. Sumtin's gotta be done.

Or would anyone prefer we sit back and take whatever horrific acts that will come about and do nothing(relatively). In fact how about we possibly start letting bunches of folks into the US from the very country that has pledged lone attacks whenever, wherever they can, a country that we have no earthly idea who any single person is. Letting any potential enemies with open arms seems like the dumbest thing in the world to me.
