Islamist Terrorists Unwelcome in the Congo

"A crowd stoned to death a young man in northeast Congo on Friday before burning and eating his corpse, witnesses said, in apparent revenge for a series of attacks by Ugandan rebels.
The incident in the town of Beni followed a number of overnight raids in the area blamed on the Islamist group ADF-NAUL, who are thought to have massacred more than 100 people this month, using hatchets and machetes to kill their victims."

DonDiego has new respect for these citizens. Not only is an Islamist dead, . . . but he provided nourishment to the community.
For those readers, like poor old DonDiego, now contemplating relocation to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, InterNations offers website advice to those contemplating expatriation to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
That Islamist must have been a Free Range. Those Congoans put the EAT in DEATH.
Honestly - We don't really know if the victim of the attack was an Islamist (terrorist). According to Don Diego's article this was the evidence locals used to convict the perp:
"Witnesses said the man, who has not been identified, aroused suspicion on a bus when passengers discovered he could not speak the local Swahili language and that he was carrying a machete. "

The burden of proof seems to be a little more lax in the Congo. I sure hope the victim was a terrorist and not a Hollywood Actor! I think I prefer our system of Justice in the US. But I have no gripes with DD moving to the Congo. I might even pitch in for the air fare!

If DonDiego does move to The Congo, I suggest that he first take language lessons from my buddy Dominick, as he speaks fluent Swahili. Apparently an ability to speak this language could prevent you from being eaten. Can one grow nice tomatoes in The Congo?

Now, to PJ's comment "I sure hope the victim was a terrorist and not a Hollywood Actor!" There's a good likelihood that the victim could be both a terrorist and a Hollywood actor, but this wouldn't be a great loss either way.

It doesn't matter. That they slaughtered and ingested him because they thought he was an Islamist demonstrates that the populace take a dim view of terrorists.

Das ist seltsam.

DonDiego tu ina kujifunza "Tafadhali wala kula yangu. Mimi si kigaidi Kiislam. Long kuishi Joseph Kabila! "

The Congo climate is tropical and humid. But just a bit of research suggests heat-tolerant tomato varieties, especially those bearing smaller fruit, will grow well during the winter/dry season, . . . and even in Summer if given sufficient shade.
Coffee is the #1 agricultural export.

But....DonDiego cangro tomatoes in Congo?
Rumor has it one cannibal started eating at the head, the other started eating at the feet. The one at the head asked the other how he was doing down there? He replied great, I am having a ball! The other replied, don't eat so fast!!!

Travel Advisory #19:
When enjoying breakfast in one of the country's fine eating establishments, the wary traveler is advised not to request a "cup of Joe".
