It's happened again, a 3rd murder on the strip

Osheas Murder

This one at Osheas over night. 3rd death in last few weeks.
Three in the last two weeks and this one was a tourist killed by a tourist. There have been occasional conversations on this board about safety downtown. There are some people who do not want to stay downtown because they feel safer staying on the strip. The notion that the strip is safer than downtown is looking more and more like another Las Vegas myth.
them's still good odds considering how many people are on the Strip 24 hours in a day...
but I am from NYC.... thins the herd.
I can't see a punch in the face getting a murder conviction. Sounds more like bad luck than intent.

What's with the murders on the walk ways?
Although the walkways are a solution to a problem, I have always perceived them as hazardous. Not just relating to a fall from a height, but also relating to the "funneling" of a crowd into a confined space. They are similar to the chutes that are used to capture livestock, in this regard.

Add a few pissed-off, deranged, or just a bit unbalanced people to the mix, and Viola! It is beyond me why loitering on the walkways is tolerated.

To be fair the two most recent deaths were not random attacks by vagrants against tourists. They were specific feuds between specific people that resulted in a fight and then a death.

Dont get me wrong - I'm not a fan of the water bottle sellers on the walkways but dont blame them for something they didn't do.

The first killing was apparently local Hispanic-gang related. Someone said something uncomplimentary about someone else's girlfriend; he is now dead.

The second killing, near the Cosmopolitan, was also local Hispanic-on-Hispanic violence; a gang-connection has not been established.

Young Latino males are reputedly hot-blooded.

The most recent killing reinforces DonDiego's rule to not engage in fisticuffs. Even a tourist can be dangerous.

Like DUH there DD. Latinos, especially young males have been known to have quite the temper. If they have any ties to a gang, then multiply it by a factor of 10 and that's what you have.

Disclaimer: Not ALL Latino males are hot heads, just some.

People.

The people that died instigated being attacked and murdered.

These are not random killings.
