It's happened again, a 3rd murder on the strip

It is the fault of that darn Beer Pong they have at O 'Sheas. The start of many fights. Yuppy College kids and plenty of beer!!!!

There are some people who do not want to stay downtown because they feel safer staying on the strip. The notion that the strip is safer than downtown is looking more and more like another Las Vegas myth.

LOL....dude is NOT a tourist.

Do you actually know what goes on around Osheas and Flamingo after midnight?

The dude is a pimp or an associate of a pimp.

Apparently the alleged assailant is, indeed, a tourist. And the alleged victim was, at least, from out of town.

"Las Vegas police say Benjamin Hawkins, of Gainesville, killed a Utah man with one punch to the face at O'Shea's Casino.
Hawkins, who is an assistant football coach at Bradford County High School in Starke, [FL] has been booked on one count of Open Murder.
John Massie of [Roy,] Utah was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Ref: FirstCoastNews

It appears to DonDiego to have been a fatal sucker-punch.

: : : : : EDITED TO ADD : : : : :

It would seem the alleged victim was also a tourist.

From the: Deseret News :
"Moments later, John Massie, 46, of Roy, [UT] was felled by a single punch to the jaw.
'One punch,' [Police] Lt. Lewis Roberts said. 'He was out. Never got back up.'
Hawkins is black. Massie, a civilian employee at Hill Air Force Base, was white. Massie was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas."
Curiouser, . . . and curiouser, . . .

From the Las Vegas Sun :

"Officers responded just before 7 p.m. [Wednesday, 6 July] to Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., on the report of a shooting following the funeral of 21-year-old Andres Armando Elena. Elena died June 25 from a stab wound to the chest after an argument between two groups on the walkway between MGM Grand and New York-New York."

So 7 mourners of the victim of the first of the three murders which are the topic of this thread were shot at the funeral home.

"[Police spokesman Bill] Cassell said the gunman, described only as a Hispanic man wearing a red shirt, escaped after the shooting in a vehicle similar to a 1974 Chevrolet El Camino.
The vehicle was described as white, with doors that have a purple background and the number '7' in a brown, 'smoky' color, police said. The car, which has chrome rims, was last seen southbound on Main Street."

Hmm, . . . chrome rims. That shouldn't be hard to find.

DonDiego suspects this story ain't near done.

At least they are doing it (killing) at the right place.

I shoot, you die, the embalmer does his thing, and you have the funeral ALL IN ONE DAY. All for the low, low, price of $199.95. But wait, there's more, act now and we will include a set of Ginsu knives.
Wow, I was in the exact location (food court at O'Sheas) just a few hours earlier grabbing a sandwich. O'Sheas is a dive.
This would never happen downtown?
If you can't feel safe partaking in an extreme drinking game (beer pong) at a place like O'Shea's, is there any hope we can find serenity really anywhere on this planet?
