Exactly 140 years ago Wild Bill Hickock was dealt aces and eights . Shortly later, Black Jack McCall shot Hickock in the back. Deadmans Hand.

Interesting. I googled him. He was originally found "not guilty" in one trial because Hickock supposedly killed his brother. He later on got to meet the hangman.

An interesting aspect of this story is the uncertainty about the suits and the fifth card involved.
As a degenerate gambler, I will offer even money if you can provide convincing evidence that the 5th card was black (max bet $12.50).
