and the strip operators are ok with that. they are making a killing on non-gaming revenue. partly because it is activities that people want to do -- upscale this and that makes them feel special. and partly because people are uninformed, under-educated on the ways of Vegas in general. as stated earlier, the living large strip crowd don't even know what 6/5 BJ means. and many have only known Vegas during the resort fee era. as for me, I don't mind being a budget-minded, coupon using visitor. It allows me to spend more of my entertainment budget on gambling. for several years now I have been playing mostly at Orleans, GC, and downtown casinos. I get no thrill from paying 3/4/5x the normal price for food and drinks. no thrill at all.
Whatever their model is, things aren't working so well for Caesars and MGM.
I used to play a lot of BJ at Slots. They had great dealers. One guy looked just like Chuck Berry, and had a sharp sense of humor. Needless to say, Circus Circus fired him.
