Japan hit by an 8.8 earthquake

The Union of Soviet Socialists Republics paid little attention to nuclear safety.

n.b. This means [at least] 13 plutonium reactors were just dumped into the Arctic Ocean; as they rust and deteriorate, plutonium will be dispensed into the world's oceans, . . . with predictable results:

DD forgets that we ARE talking about the ONLY nation on this Earth that has experienced the power of not 1 but what 2 nuclear bombs feel like. I am very sure Japan has taken every possible precaution and saftey procedure possible to avert any possible disaster.

Besides, they have Godzilla, we don't.

And schools. And job options. And overall income. etc.

But it also depends on how you define "looting."

So how much money are these responders making at the nuclear site? I cant imagine there is a salary high enough to get me within 10 miles of that place. They've got some big balls. And if they get too close to that radiation they may get some really big balls....gigantic even !

I would figure they make some good money, but not what an engineer makes. A couple of things to be sure: they are likely public workers and not apart of any union.

Besides, if I'm reading the reporting ok, they are only being exposed to alpha and beta radiation. Those 2 are very easy to protect yourself against. Its that gama radiation that IS the real B.
