Jared Remy who killed girlfriend found covered with blood.. Why do women continue to date thugs like this?

Jared Remy is the son of Jerry Remy the Boston Red Sox broadcaster. What is the attraction to these type of guys i'm trying to figure this out.. He had another girlfriend who he smashed a bottle over her head. 27-year-old Jennifer Martel was a caring mom to a little girl. Working her way through college, Jennifer hoped to become an elementary school teacher. Jennifer's boyfriend had a long history of criminal activity, including domestic violence, yet was released on his own recognizance after smashing Jennifer's head into a mirror Tuesday, Aug. 13. Just two nights later, he was found covered in blood after stabbing Jennifer to death in the presence of their four-year-old daughter and neighbors.

While Massachusetts is at the forefront of the war against domestic violence, the recent murder of Jennifer Martel highlights a gaping flaw in the current system. Under M.G.L. 276 sec. 58A, offenders can be released on their own recognizance, without any bail set, within 24 hours of an assault. An emergency restraining ordered was issued against Jennifer's assailant, but since Jennifer did not appear in court the day after she was attacked, her assailant was released without bail on his on recognizance. Very sad!

Why do women continue to date thugs like this? How about "why do men continue to abuse women"?
Seriously? Have you ever heard of abuse? Most of the time it starts when they are children.
They have been physically and emotionally beat down.
These thugs look for women like that.
I'm sure everyone here knows of an abusive relationship. If a man will belittle his wife/gf in public, there is serious abuse in private.
The question is, what did you do about it?
These women are the exception, not the ordinary.

"Why do women continue to date thugs like this? How about "why do men continue to abuse women"? --Good question, Treegirl- let me ask this- Why do women seek out and date "bad boys"? And when they get one, why do they allow these "bad boys" to verbally and physically abuse them? And when these women seemingly "have had enough" and leave these "bad boys", why do these women go back to them time and time again? I do not condone men abusing women but I will never understand why women continue to go back to their abusers.

Jared Remy's father is Jerry Remy the color man for the Red Sox TV broadcasts, and former second baseman for the Red Sox.

He along with Donald Orsillo, the play-by-play announcer, form a great broadcasting team for the Boston Red Sox games on NESN.

I feel sorry for Jerry, for in the past couple of years he has battled cancer, then depression, but each time returning to do the games.

This time he hasn't returned yet, but I do hope that he does.

He is extremely well loved by the fans here.

Women that are abused for years are beat down emotionally. They feel they deserve this treatment and feel they would not make it without their man.
It is not easy to understand if you do not understand women.

As I said earlier, I think it was roid rage, which means the guy is probably an avid steroid user. Just look at his picture. Those things are bad news and are supposed to affect someone's temper.
