Jason Bourne

Seldom, if ever, has an actor and a fictional character come together so perfectly as Matt Damon as Jason Bourne.

And the soundtrack by Moby, "Extreme Ways" is perfect.

I hope there is a sequel in the way.

I would be interested to know what others in this forum opine. Thank you.
The bourne identity was the first novel i ever read outside of school. My mom turned me onto it and robert ludlum,i was hooked on reading then. Whoever knew reading for just the pleasure of reading would be so enjoyable! I think i was around 15 or so and i beleive i had read all of his novels by the time i was 18 LOL.
As far as the bourne movies,i'm pretty sure all 3 have been made into movies. The most recent being the bourne supremacy. And I agree, damon does a good job,but like most movies, they dont follow the book very well.

Thanks for the reply, jatki.

I think (fictionally, of course) that Jason Bourne would kick James Bond's a** every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

Yes, there have been three Bourne movies, but I think the last one to come out was "The Bourne Ultimatum". Please correct me if I am wrong.
Since the death of Robert Ludlum, Eric Van Lustbader has taken over the Jason Bourne franchise. He has written four or five additional Jason Bourne novels.

Maybe, but James Bond would get the better looking women and cars.

Good one, Roulette!

There is a sequel of sorts on the way, . . . The Bourne Legacy , to be released in 2012.

However, Matt Damon is absent. In fact "Jason Bourne" is absent. But the main character is a Jason Bourne-like covert agent. Actor Jeremy Renner has apparently snagged the lead role, beating out Joel Edgerton, Luke Evans, Garrett hedland, Taylor Kitsch, and Shia LeBoeuf.

Thanks for the info, DD.

I will reserve final judgement until I see this movie, but I have reasonable doubt it will work as well as the original trilogy without Damon.

Shy ala Buff would be terrible casting. No idea who the other guys are, but good non-choice.

It does not make any difference to me who they cast for this role- Matt Damon IS Jason Bourne. Anyone else won't be the same or better.
