Jeb Bush Leaves Behind Republican Party He Can Barely Recognize

I was pretty surprised when I saw he called it quits so early. One article I read reported his campaign fund was about dried up, the super PAC only raised about 375K in Jamuary. I sincerely thought he would be one of the last ones to suspend gis campaign. I wonder who's next? Carson (which I'm kind of disappointed, I wish he had done better, now I'm leery of the remaining front runners.

Did you see Carson speech last night? There is something unhinged about him. His laugh is very disturbing, and he sincerely thinks he is still a legitimate candidate.
I'm surprised Bush got out, especially since no one is even breaking a third of the votes.
I'm glad that Bush doesn't recognize the Republican party. It was terrible before, and hopefully it'll be better going forward.

He didn’t really have a choice. He was out of money and so was his super PAC.

In 2010 Marco Rubio was a Tea Party favorite. Now holding those same positions, he's considered a "moderate" in the GOP. And a tax raising, gun controlling, peace treaty signing, executive ordering, debt limit raising Ronald Reagan couldn't get nominated to anything in the Republican Party.

Which is why "centrists" who split the difference between the Democrats and the modern-day radical right-wing Republicans are so full of shit.

How exactly does an unhinged person get to be a world renowned neurosurgeon? You seem to have a habit of questioning world class practitioners. What exactly is the great accomplishment in your life? Most calories consumed at a casino buffet?

A couple of questions for my fellow progressive. Doesn’t Trump change that dynamic? His views on healthcare, entitlements, and free trade are to the left of Hillary Clinton. And haven’t Democrats contributed to the rightward lurch of the country with the DLC, Third Way and that whole triangulation strategy?

Im thrilled to see republicans rally behind a candidate that wants to raise taxes on billionaires and move to a single payer healthcare system. But thats not why they are rallying behind him. They jerk off to his devisiveness which is the exact oppossitte quality a president should pursue. his two year media tour of chasing Obama's birth certificate makes him a champion among hard core tea partiers...but thats going to kill him in a general election.

Also, to date he's been able to be vague about how he implements his positions. You can do that with 10 candidates in the debates. He'll have to start explaining how he gets things done. I dont think the whole "im going to be great on Immigration, Isis, the economy" is going to sell much longer without being able to say how.

My father was a Republican for 50 years and left the party during the reign of George W. Bush. He left because for decades Republican Politicians demanded a Balanced Budget, but the moment they took control of both Executive and Legislative Branches they began borrowing and spending like drunken sailors.

I am not now, nor have I ever been a registered Republican, but I believe both parties have become more extreme. I see it in the Republican base making religion part of their policy and in the Democratic base's uuuuge grassroots support for a 'radical' socialist for President.

I'd take Barry Goldwater over Ronald Reagan any day of the week.
