You are right and this mass murderer felt the need to identify himself as a conservative twice and a republican once in a character limited profile. You should have seen his old MySpace profile. All of his selfies are of him posing with a gun.

It's a Dating Website. He's advertising himself to meet a special woman....Obviously looking for a Republican woman who likes guns and who he might get lucky with. Bristol Palin? Doesn't mean he really is or has ever been a Republican. Sounds like the nut in Charleston only an anti-religious bigot with mental problems instead of a Racist with mental problems.

I'd think a few social media posts would carry much less weight than his reported shooting those who admitted to being Christian in the head.

Years of posts not a couple of off the cuff remarks. Lots of denial in this thread. rdwoodpecker and alanleroyII seem to think that since we don't have the shooter's voting registration it doesn't count that he self-identified as a conservative republican. Personally, what stands out to me is the guy was nuttier than a squirrel turd, and should have been locked up and medicated before this happened. You republicans want guns everywhere. Fine, then concede we are going to have to spend a lot of money on mental health. Otherwise any professed sympathy for the victims is insincere and cowardly.

One armed guard in the school could have prevented all of the deaths and injuries he inflicted on innocent people. You'd lock him up before he committed any crimes and feed him a bunch of pills...until a shrink says he can go home if he keeps taking the pills.

Involuntary indefinite confinement with forced psychotropic medication is what you advocate with your "the guy was nuttier than a squirrel turd, and should have been locked up and medicated before this happened" statement. What in any of his social media activities would lead you to believe he was going to murder people? What red flag would be grounds to lock him up before he did anything illegal?

Evil can't be cured by shrinks with pills...nor can it be identified before someone actually commits crimes unless they issue actual threats.

Really? Think for a little more than one second about what you're saying right here. One armed guard in every school. Do you think it's an acceptable consequence for having close to no gun control laws? Every SCHOOL needs an armed guard at the door? How about every daycare center? Or every cinema? Or every sports club? Why do you think it's ok to accept the fact that these places will have to deal with gun violence at some point? Why not put the military on every corner of the street, or 5 cops? All because of some blind love for guns? How come a lot of democratic countries with way more history than the USA don't need a second amendment to protect the people against their own government? How come all these countries don't have a fraction of the gun violence we have in this country?
