Jessica Sanford- Obamacare "success story"

Obama's "success story" cannot afford new health plan. Jessica Sanford, cited by Obama as an Affordable Care success story says she will go uninsured and calls the program "a treadmill of bureaucracy" after she discovered she is no longer eligible for a large subsidy that would of lowered her monthly premium to $169 per month. Instead Sanford would be forced to pay nearly FOUR times as much,$621, for coverage. Just another example of the truth behind the lies Obama has told. She is just one of millions of Americans who believed this liar. Now, chilcoot and forkush, twist the truth about this.
I don't think drmilled understands her situation. No surprise there, he never posts facts, he certainly never links to any. He just hurls anger and indignation.

Here are her particulars:

1. She hasn't had insurance for 15 years, so there's no policy for her to keep.

2. She's a single parent who makes roughly $50,000 a year and doesn't get child support. This apparently means she doesn't qualify for subsidies, which for single adults cut off around $45,000 in annual income.

3. Because her son needs $250 in medication each month, his pre-existing insurance made insurance too expensive for her family. Even bad policies were in the $500 - $600 monthly range.

4. She can get quality, gold-level insurance through the exchange for herself and her son for $621 a month, and there may be a tax credit she can take advantage of that'll bring that down. She's also considering less expensive silver and bronze plans.

How is this not a success? She's able to buy better insurance for just a little more than what the bad policies she was quoted cost. Other than the fact that the State of Washington initially told her she'd get a big subsidy, she's in a much better position now than she was.

In fact, here's how she sees things now:

She says she wants to make it clear she has no beef with Obama and Obamacare. She still believes in the Affordable Care Act. “I don’t want this to be a political thing,” she says. “I don’t want to be bashing the president. I don’t want to be bashing the ACA. I don’t want to come across as saying that. I am a big Obama fan."

This is terrible somehow?
I knew that chilcoot could not wait to bite on this one. This is the woman Obama personally cited as a success story for his ill conceived abomination called Obamacare. The facts I stated are truthful- chilcoot has, onceagain, clouded the truth with his rendition of reality. ------ Here is the story via Yahoo--- A single mom from Washington State who was cited by President Obama as an Affordable Care Act success story now says she’ll go uninsured and calls the program a “treadmill of bureaucracy.”

Washington State Wire reports that Jessica Sanford, 48, discovered that she is no longer eligible for a large subsidy that would have lowered her monthly premium to $169 per month. Instead, Sanford would now be forced to pay nearly four times as much, $621, for coverage.

Sanford told the paper she believes the government should shut down the entire healthcare.gov site until the site’s issues are resolved. “In my opinion they ought to shut it down and just get all of it straightened out.”

That's a complete 180 from what Sanford thought she was signing up for last month when Obama touted her as an Affordable Care Act success story.

During a White House Rose Garden ceremony on Oct. 21, Obama read an email from Sanford in which she thanks the president for offering her help in obtaining a low-cost, high-quality coverage plan.

"I recently received a letter from a woman named Jessica Sanford in Washington state,” Obama said. “And here's what she wrote: 'I am a single mom, no child support, self-employed. And I haven't had insurance for 15 years because it's too expensive. I was crying the other day when I signed up, so much stress lifted.' "

Sanford works as a court reporter and says she makes just under $50,000 a year. Her 14-year-old son requires a monthly prescription that is expensive because it must come from a compounded pharmacy. She said she thought the originally promised $452 monthly premium subsidy would help her close the financial gap.

“To think I would finally be covered if anything happened – I was so relieved,” she told the Washington Wire.

However, CNN reports that in the days following Obama's Rose Garden ceremony Sanford received a letter telling her that her tax credit had been taken away, meaning she won’t be able to afford coverage. Officials reportedly told her that they made a mistake in calculating her benefits. Sanford is reportedly one of 8,000 people in Washington State who have received letters informing them that their promised subsidies have been reduced or removed.

“This is it. I'm not getting insurance," Sanford told CNN. "That's where it stands right now unless they fix it."

A representative from Washington State’s HealthPlanFinder said they are looking into Sanford’s case and will try to help her find a more affordable plan.
Your cutting and pasting is fine.

But it's no substitute for discussing the points I made.

This woman has been helped, just not as much as her state first indicated she'd be.

The points you made are, at best, redundant and obtuse. I won't discuss what has been stated in the article -the facts stated there tell the story. And as of yet, she has not been helped, she has just been given lip service about trying to help her find a more affordable plan. --- By the way, stating facts is not hurling anger and indignation.
Dude, she likes Obamacare. And has good reason. You desperately want her to be mad about it, but she's not.

At some point, reality should matter.
Thanks Obama

To quote her "Now I have been priced out and will not be able tp afford the plans you offer. But, I get to pay $95 and up for not having health insurance. I am incredibly disappoined and saddened. You majorly screwed up"

No that's a happy customer.

CBS poll has his approval at 37%
Yes, she is talking about the State of Washington, which miscalculated her eligibility for subsidies. She is upset with the State of Washington.

Perhaps repetition works here:

She says she wants to make it clear she has no beef with Obama and Obamacare. She still believes in the Affordable Care Act. “I don’t want this to be a political thing,” she says. “I don’t want to be bashing the president. I don’t want to be bashing the ACA. I don’t want to come across as saying that. I am a big Obama fan."
The entire process is based on obamacare rules.

Based on those rules she is not eligible for any subsidy & cannot afford the policy.

The entire health care industry is in total chaos
