jokers wild- railroad pass $1 dollar craps question

Was just out there a week and a half ago......Jokers Wild craps table opens at 9am closes about midnite.....we didn't have any problems getting in.......unfortunately they shut down their poker room so we ended up going to Sams Town for a 1pm tourney and then back to JW.......they also have pretty good Blackjack there......Ive not been to Railroad pass but JW is the only place ive seen that plays with quarters. That means on points of 6 or 8 you dont have to play 5 bucks in odds and can go as low as 1.25 if you want plus placing the 6 or 8 for 1.50......The Hacienda plays one dollar craps but no quarters so you have to bet 5 dollars on the odds bets for the 6 and 8.......By far the JW is best if you want true cheap craps. But judging from how few people we saw.....I dont know how long they will be around.......good luck!

Thanks, lets hope it will be around in April!
Its possible that it was dead because of the time of year..........but closing down certain functions never bodes well IMO.
I was at the Fremont just before New Years... $3 table was running and usually fairly crowded. We always travel out to the Jokers Wild for the $1 table, but make sure to go in the daytime. I have never had to wait there on a weekday. They seem to get lots of daytime regulars there. The crew knows their names. Did not get to the El Co for craps last trip.

I played the new $1 craps video game. These are showing up at the 4 Queens, NYNY, and the Rio. A good beginners tool, because the pace is slow and you have time to think before betting. The machine uses large dice in the center of a round console, under a dome. A button is pressed to shoot. Fun when there are a few people playing. I think the machine takes 8 players.

The next time someone plays one of these games, please ask the casino if this is considered to be a "table game" of dice or a "slot machine" and here's why:

If a table game we know that the results are not governed by anything but chance -- the rotation of those giant dice and the mechanics that bounce them around under the dome.

But if it is a slot machine then its a different story. Nevada regulations requre that slots pay back at least 85% and then the results can be controlled by the game. In other words, the roll of the dice in the machine is not random.

I've asked but never got a straight answer.

This isn't how I understand Nevada casinos operate. At all.

First off, these new craps devices with the real dice in the middle are regulated as gaming devices, not as gambling games. They mimic the play of the gambling game known as craps, but they are gaming devices.

Second, just like all gaming devices, the result of each game must be determined independent of prior games. Usually, that's done by a random number generator, as in video poker and video slots. In these new craps machines, it's done by two big dice, shaken sufficiently that the numbers they roll are sufficiently random to satisfy the NGC. For them to exist on the casino floor at all, the NGC must have determined that those dice are legally identical to the work of a RNG.

The NGC would never knowingly permit a casino to manipulate the dice rolls on one of these devices like you're suggesting.
Gees....

Little chilly is saying it's a table game not a slot machine.
I'm saying these new craps machines are slot machines (or in NGC-ese, "gaming devices").
The electronic table games are treated as slot machines, and show up in the online slot management system (OSMS) as such. Our slot directors are in charge of the machines.

For those of you in states where craps and roulette are currently not allowed in casinos (like AZ), you'll notice that the electronic versions are on the floor.
Thanks prefect.
