July Trip 18-21

Very Very excited, just finished the details for annual trip this July. Planet Hollywood Pulse offer, so will be staying at a Harrahs property for the first time since I visited Bally's in 2006. Good offer with 2-1 admission to the Spa, so wife and I will enjoy that. Got reservations to B and B Bistro for Tastings Meal and Tix to see Cheap Trick perform Sgt. Peppers Live at the Paris. Wife rented a convertable and we are road triping to Grand Canyon on Monday! Hope these two months go by fast. Just had to share! Looking forward to staying at PH, and wife has never stayed mid strip before so she is happy about local! =)
Sounds like a nice upcoming visit, but don't hope the time to get there goes by fast. My grandfather recently died (91) and before he did he told me "it didn't take long to get from start to finish".

He had another truism: "It's better to travel hopefully than to arrive". So, enjoy the trip!
You might not want a convertible in July. Need AIR CONDITIONING!
Wife is all about the sun shine... told her we may have to use the AC at some point. Based on other suggestions we are headed to the south point of the GC. Any idea how long a drive we are looking at?

If you mean from the South Point to the Gold Coast, not a long drive at all, but bagiant's right. You'll bake in the sun even on a short trip and the top will go up at some point. It won't go back down in the day time either after experiencing that.

He's talking about the south point of the Grand Canyon. Probably about 3.5 hours.
the drive from the strip to the Grand Canyon South Rim is 5 hard hours....it is worth the drive but is tiring to say the least....enjoy it though, you will never forget it. July will be here soon enough, don't want it to go faster. GL
I would get as early a start as possible to the Grand Canyon. Watching the sun come up on the desert is beautiful and you can avoid some of the 100+ temps.
Agree with orchid, get an early start to the GC. Also, buy a cheap styro cooler, fill with ice and bottled water. Bring some nuts and fruit to snack on. By 9-10AM...you're going to need to put up that converitable top..That HOT sun is deceiving. Enjoy, the Grand Canyon is amazing!

Hey Crown-n-dice: Enjoy your trip and win lots of $$$$... Spice buffet at PH is worth a visit... see if you can get a line-pass to avoid the long lines.
