As a Chicago area resident, what's amazing to me is that NOTHING is being done about the carnage. The mayor simply seems to ignore it, and the press doesn't even bother to question anything about it. There are those who want to blame the governor, Bruce Rauner a Republican in the bluest of blue states, and I am among those critical of him. Where the hell are these guys?

Where is the Mayor?
Where is the Governor?
Where is Jesse Jackson?
Where is Al Sharpton?
Where is Black Lives Matter?
Where is the media? And lastly,
Where is Barack Obamanation?

Where is the national guard?

Do you think President Obama will do anything to stem the tide of violence in his former home town after he leaves the White House?
If not, maybe Michelle will do something to stem the tide of violence in her former home town after she leaves the White House?

The real reason nothing is done is because the vast majority of these shootings occur in neighborhoods of color....plain and simple truth.

What does President Obama have to do with the National Guard? If the Governor wants to deploy it, he can, but what do you think they would accomplish? They are not trained, or equipped to fight crime.

Other than expressing disapproval there's not much a former-President or former-First Lady can do about street crime; it's the job of the Police departments and Mayors. Besides The Obamas won't be living in "Chiraq" in their Hyde Park digs upon departing the White House. The Chicago home is scheduled to house the Obama Presidential Library.

In any case, Chicagoland is likely to remain the First Couple's "former home town".

The Obamas will be leasing a $4.3 million, nine-bedroom mansion in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C., while daughter Sasha finishes her high school career at Sidwell Friends.

And the Obamas have bought a holiday getaway in Obama’s childhood home state of Hawaii, as well.

And most recently the Obamas have purchased a house in Rancho Mirage, Calif., not far from Sunnylands, the former Annenberg estate, which Presidents use as a getaway and which is thought of as the unofficial West Coast Camp David.

So Chicago, Washington, Hawaii, or California, . . . would anyone choose Chicago ?

Well Emanual is busy already confronting the incoming Administration over the sanctuary city thing, saying Chicago will be forever a safe harbor for illegals.

I see this coming from a mile away, the headlines will read "Trump stance on immagration starves school children" because the first thing cut will be all the social programs when the Feds cut all funding to cities who won't follow THE LAW. They'll do everything they can to discredit the admin., even starving the poor kids and blame it on him.

I'll add, I don't know how much sympathy Emanual will get, I believe removing criminal illegals was one of the big reasons DT won.

McCarthy said....efforts to rein in rogue cops have hamstrung honest police officers, allowing crime to flourish. McCarthy says those efforts have had an especially disastrous effect on the Chicago’s black community, where most of the homicides have taken place. “At the behest of ‘saving black lives’, more black people are dying than they have in 20 years here in Chicago. Every action has a reaction. There’s no political solution to practical problems. The police are not the problem. There’s a social and economic problem that exists in this country, and until such time as we recognize that that’s the issue that needs to be addressed, not the police, we’re not gonna fix anything.”

You do realize the first half of the post directly contradicts the second part, right?
