Just Got Home (abbreviated trip report)

The big kids were fine. It's the little ones that are annoying. Especially when they aren't supervised well and get in the way of a lot of people walking through an area. I won't be getting charged by the rental company. There's nothing there to charge for. We got all the residue from the scratch removed and there was no dent underneath. That's twice I've dodged that bullet. Next time I might just get the insurance.
Snidely, I never did have a cider. I guess I just wasn't in the mood. The cocktail waitresses were pretty scarce. I just stuck with a drink with dinner and that's about it.
Great Trip Report Julie

Thanks for taking the time to write and share.

My feet hurt just reading about all the walking you did.

Doesn't your personal car insurance cover you on rental cars? That is standard, assuming that you have comprehensive auto insurance (liability plus collision), which most folks do.

From what I understand, my insurance would cover the damage. But, I would have a $1000 deductible. Also, insurance doesn't cover the rentals company's loss of use which is where they screw you. But the worst part for us is the fact that I had a small fender bender last year and my husband was hit by a car while riding his bike and our car insurance covered everything. He also has a speeding ticket that will not go on his record if he has no violations for the next year or two. I think adding the scratch into the mix might just get our policy cancelled. We are good drivers. We just had a rough year.

I only brought one pair of shoes. Flip flops. They are Montrail heat moldable ones and I highly recommend them. The style name might be Molokini. They are the most supportive shoes I own.
I loe you Julie!
When I vacation in a warm climate, and wear sandals onto the plane (regardless of the weather), and those are the only footwear that I take. I'm fully impressed with a woman who does the same, as most ladies that I've traveled with will take 6 pair of shoes for three nights.

Atta' girl!

Julie G, Boilerman and my wife are of the same opinion on vacation shoes. Myself however, I need slippers for the room, flip flops for the pool, a brown and a black pair for daytime and both a brown and black pair for evening/dress. And, it doesn't matter how they feel, it's all about how they look.

As for the maid barging in at 8am.....I just flip the covers down so my aged, hairy butt is showing from the bed. They run out of the room like a scalded dog and never come in early again.
