......a former neighbor of mine murdered her husband.
When I was living in Calabasas, CA. we had a neighbor that was an Open Tennis judge. At that time, late 80's, she had one of those huge satellites on the side of her house. The HOA made her take it down...which I thought was ridiculous....but she wound up taking it down.
Apparently, back in April, she stabbed her husband with a broken coffee cup multiple times, then went out to play tennis and have her nails done. When she got back to the house, she called the police to tell them she found her husband dead in bed and that he must have fallen down the stairs. I guess the police bought the story at first since they just arrested her in NYC at the Open and extradited her back to Los Angeles.
If you Google Lois Goodman, it will tell the whole story in an LA Times article.
Ironically, our next door neighbor was Melodie Woodman, whose husband and brother in law had their parents killed on Yom Kippur in what was called the "Ninja" murders as the killers, witnesses said, wore "ninja" type clothing. They wound up making a made for TV movie about the murders.
Some neighborhood!!! Couldn't have been more than 20 houses in the upscale gated cul de sac.
