As I pointed out, if one visits a NY steakhouse, you won't find New York beef. Besides, NYC doesn't respect the balance of the state, since these folks are country bumpkins...
Maybe, I don't know. But could it be because New York City SUPPORTS the freeloaders in the rest of the state. Outside of NYC and the downstate suburbs, the rest of New York State residents receive about 50% more in government services than they pay in taxes.

And who is paying for the extra services the non-NYC counties receive? It's the residents of New York City. At least the bumpkins could show some gratitude.

I would point out that outside of the Metropolitan area, the rest of the state is overwhelmingly Republilican, but he knows that.I'd also point out that nationwide, Republican voting states are the ones sucking on the public teat, but boils doesn't deal in facts. He starts with moronic positions and then digs in.

I'm with RM about the new BK dogs. I've been meaning to stop and grab a couple but just haven't yet. I'm not expecvting much but it would really be a pleasant surprise if they're at least somewhat tasty. Living in WV, through all my college years, one could find a decent chili dog just about everywhere and always 2 for a buck.

I remember one time some friends were visiting and went to a local place and brought home a few dozen dogs, I ended up eating about ten of 'em. It was one of those times where I could just keep eating. I still go buy a few quarts of take home chili from one of the places. Throw some dogs on the grill and heat that chili, little ketchup, couple diced onions, and YUM.
NY is a large dairy producing state, but well down the totem pole as far is beef producing. Northern California produces the most milk in the US, with Wisconsin clocking at at #2 (Wisconsin is the largest cheese producing state). NY is certainly high on list for dairy production, tho most of this in in Bumkin Land. Dairy cows tend to reside within a geographic arc stretching from New York, through places such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Idaho and finally into Northern California. On the other hand, most beef cattle is raised in the Midwest and in the South, since they consume lots of corn. The largest such places beef cattle are:

1. Texas - 11.7 million
2. Nebraska - 6.45 million
3. Kansas - 6.25 million
4. California - 5.2 million
5. Oklahoma - 4.85 million

Before this beef cattle is sent to market, they are moved to feedlots where they are fattened up. This is done mostly in these states listed below. You'll notice that cattle tends to be raised and fattened around corn growing states.

1. Texas - 2.43 million
2. Nebraska - 2.20 million
3. Kansas - 2.09 million
4. Colorado - .870 million
5. Iowa - .620 million

Here's an article about a major NYC beef supplier, and it's the first hit that I found when searching for who supplies NYC restaurants their beef. I didn't look too hard, however. This company is headquartered in Arkansas City, Kansas.

Creekstone Farms

As I mentioned before, there is lots of good dairy produced in NY, but all of that originates east of the Hudson in flyover Bumpkin Land. There are plenty of great people in NYC, and then there are those like Billy who believe that NYC, Florida, Las Vegas, and California are the only places worth visiting with the United States. Those of us in the Midwest hope that he stays true to his beliefs.

Plus, DonDiego is safe to assume that Billy will not be visiting his tomato ranch vicinity anytime soon. DD is a lucky man in many ways.

Oh, Boiler must now sign off. I'm heading out to have a few beers with friend Dominic (aka Dom). It's good that is daytime, as he's difficult to see in the dark. This might horrify some Liberals, but Dom and I joke about this.............as he's a dark as a moonless county night.
Daytime sessions with your black Dom. Nuff Said.

Mostly it's the poor and middle class who are paying. In the state of New York, those earning between $18,000 and $99,000 pay about 11.5% of their income in state and local taxes. Meanwhile top 1% pay only 8.1%.

And those earning under $18,000 pay 10.4% of their income in state and local taxes. Again, the top 1% only pay 8.1%. And that's in progressive New York; most states are worse than that.
Forkie is once again not giving all of the details in his post. The 8.1% is a combination of sale taxes paid, property taxes, and income taxes. For income taxes, the top 1% are paying the most per his chart. It is understandable how sales taxes will be less for the wealthiest taxpayers. The same goes for real estate taxes.
We have one guy who pays $100 per year in taxes, and another guy who pays $100,000 in taxes, yet the guy who pays $100,000 isn't paying his "fair share"? Yet Forkie complains when money leaves the rich NY state and lands in poor Alabama. Forkie is confused..............or more likely he demands that the poor are subsidized by others.

Obviously. Is there anyone here stupid enough not to know that sales tax is a state tax? I hope not.

But in most states the top 1% pay a state and local tax rate that is much lower the middle class. Residents of red state counties in states like New York and Washington pay a lot less in taxes than they receive in state benefits.

And who pays for it? The poor and middle class in urban areas and in blue states.

Turns out the top 1% and Republicans like their free shit. And they get it too, don't they?
