You will get wet, regardless which option you take. I wouldn't go in the winter. Our day was a hot one, but the water was quite cold on our feet, about up to mid-calf at times. Use sunscreen.

But it was by far the best thing we've ever done in Vegas. We did the pontoon boat, includeed the Hoover Dam history movie before launching, a guide who points out everything, all the flora and fauna, geology, history, etc. We pulled over to shore for box lunch that was provided. Round trip hotel transportation.

We did see some bighorn sheep.

We were totally tired at the end of the day, but in a good way.

Little confused here Candy, was the boat not very seaworthy?

" We did the pontoon boat" , "the water was quite cold on our feet, about up to mid-calf at times."

Sounds like ypu may have been lucky to reach your destination.

OK, John, it has been 10-15 years or more...whatever the thing was called. It was motorized. Like sitting in a double wide canoe, held 8 or 10 people. Whatever the hell it was.
Excellent trip report, and great photos. Makes me want to trip down the river. Thank you, sir.

Great report and a different adventure!

Since I'm a fair weather paddler, I'm not a good person to ask about that. In chilly weather I might consider splashing around Willow Beach, but that's about it. Otherwise I'd be riding on the pontoon boat. So I'd call one of the outfitters like Desert Adventures and ask them.

Forkie, you make me chuckle. As I've moved on to 56 years of age, I've become a fair weather guy. I've done some "paddling" in my life, but not for some time. When I was 30 years old, I would do anything in bad weather. This includes zero degree snow skiing, 50 degree water skiing, zero degree football games, and 45 degree rainy golf. All of that is gone for me, however.

Like Forkie, I won't paddle unless the weather was good.
