KENO payout in Massachusetts

I have been playing KENO in Ma. for years . Losing ,losing and losing.
I contacted the Ma. lottery and they told me what the payout was last year.

Keno’s prize payouts average is 70 percent. Last year Keno sales were $768,218,000- of that $531,024,000 was paid in prizes to Keno players.

Do you believe this ? I don't.

Why don't you believe it?

Even at 70 percent payback, almost everyone who plays (95%? 98%?) loses.

You're just in the loser group, what did you expect?

That is a 69% pay out. Right as they say it should be.

Yep. That other 1% is known as 'The Skim'.

Well a lot of people play KENO here, and some variety stores are actually set up like Mini-KENO-Dens,
with tables and chairs, TV monitors for the games, and even movies playing.

Even if not big winners, those $5 to $20 winners X thousands of players add up over time.

The gambling is so heavy here in Massachusetts (scratch tickets and KENO)
that I have often gone into busy variety store and said to the clerk
"Don't you feel that you are working for the Mass. Lottery?"

BTW, The Mass. Lottery is the most successful state lottery in the country.

I was waiting to hear from you Rick. Do you think they should minimize the million dollar prizes and give out more $500-$5,000 winners .

I'm assuming you're talking Scratch Tickets ? .........

if so, then , ....... one can't retire on $5K.

People lay down their $$$ to hit it BIG, not only to retire, but to live very comfortably while doing so.
