I was happy to read about a few people choosing the Wilson Art countertops. We just had new cabinets installed (JSI) and now the countertops (Wilson Art) will be installed tomorrow. Can't wait to see how it looks. I didn't want the high end granite (3x as much money) but still wanted something durable. We had Formica for 42 years and had no problem. Have heard that this Wilson Art is wonderful and looks like granite. Only disappointment is that I couldn't have an undermount sink. They wouldn't guarantee that it wouldn't eventually leak.

I, too, don't care for stainless steel appliances. Designers have told me that it will soon pass and stick with white. We kept our appliances since they weren't very old. Painted the kitchen walls a sage green and it looks spiffy!! Have a wooden laminate floor that is great.
The house I grew up in had 50 year old Formica. It was very durable. The Wilson Art looks a lot better but I seem some cuts and scratches in it after 10 years. Make sure to use a cutting board. Every time.
OK this was our kitchen when we bought the house recently.

Before

It already had the black granite counter-tops and tile back splash that looked great so we left them alone and did this:

Golden oak cabinets: sanded, kilz and painted Navajo White

Golden Oak hardwood floors: Sanded and went a little darker

Updated the appliances.

Left the stainless steel dual inset sink alone.

Here is the result:

AFTER

Mrs. Blade added her decorator touch including putting the paper towel rack inside the under sink cabinet, and other than a coffee maker no other items sit on the counter top so it looks uncluttered.

When we were shopping around, two different sales people were complaining about having to consistently walk around with a windex bottle/towel and wipe the customer finger prints off the stainless steel appliances.

My stainless appliances have no fingerprints. Mainly because there's no reason to touch the stainless; they have handles.
