Kinda sore tonight

but a few oxycontins and a percoset are helping. Went under the knife again today. The fistula they put in my arm for my dialisys access didn't mature. So now I have a graph in the bend of my elbow. Dr made and incision in my armpit and connected/opened up a vein in my elbow.
I didnt know about the incision til after in the post op room when I tried to use it to stand up. YEEEEEEOOUCCHHHHH!!!!!,that hurt like an SOB! Nurse said "oh yea, dont do that". "OK,hit me up with something please". Got a double dose of fentynol, ahhhh, much better: THANK YOU Carla.
So home tonight, feeling good with home meds..........hmmmm,about time for another perc and a beer...sleepy time soon

JOHN
Hope it feels better soon; tricky place to have the fistula. Gotta watch carefully for clots (you won't feel a good "thrill," or the pulsation of blood thru the fistula if there is a clot,) excessive bleeding, redness, swelling that doesn't improve, arm or finger numbness. If you use ice, only use for 20 min at a time so blood flow is not impeded nor tissue damage done.Try to elevate/support w/a soft pillow. As a nurse, I've seen more complications at this location than the forearm, or even wrist, so take care.
They had to go in and redo my wife's fistula 2 additional times after the original surgery. I guess it's just not easy to get right.
Hi John,
Here's hoping that things get better real soon for you.

Rick

Ouch!! Hope for a speedy recovery.
Hope you feel better. Being sick sure does suck.

Instead of thinking that "I HAVE to go to work today" I'll be thinking "I GET to go to work today"
So sorry about this, John, but hope in time you'll have a good access.
I work with a terrific vascular surgeon who put in all of our accesses where I work.

Yes, elevation is essential.

Drugs, too...LOL

You sound like you are a really good sport...my favorite kind of patient!

All the best.
EEEEEOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg,it hurt so bad today at dialisys, i literally thought i was going to pass out.I had a couple oxy's in me,but they didnt appear to have done anything. Nurse wasnt sure if it was being on the machine that was preventing them from working or what. I hit the meds pretty hard when i got home and am just now feeling well enough to be up (5:30AM). And oh yea, I was the biggest baby yesterday ,and now really,I'm so grateful that i have a wife who truly cares for me and about my well being.
Actually I should mention something about my wife here. Basically she is probably one of the sole reasons i'm still alive. If it wasn't for her I'm not sure I'd be here. She was by my side Through everything, from the time my accident, to when i first opened my eyes,to the first time sitting up, to ,well everything. That was a total of a year in the hospital and she never missed a day. I really cant say enough about her. She was my wife,a mother,a provider and a hundred other things the last year and a half.

JOHN
Do they have you on the list for a kidney or 2?
Not yet,i'm scheduled for an evaluation in june. I'm hoping i will have someone(one of my sibs) to donate. We'll see.
