Kurt Busch to the #43 Petty car ???? Say It Ain't So !

Am hearing rumors that Richard Petty Motorsports is trying to work a deal with the #43 primary sponsor, Best Buy, to put Kurt Busch in the legendary #43 car for the 2012 Nascar Cup season.

If this travesty of justice happens, that would leave A.J. Allmendinger screwed. A.J. has a signed contract for 2012, so RPM would have to buy him out.

I cannot fathom an immature idiot crybaby like the Big Shrub driving King Richard's car. Big mistake RPM would be making.
Maybe Marcos Ambrose could teach him a thing or two. AJ proved himself last year and deserves better. Maybe RPM will have a ride for him too.
I think Ambrose is safe since he has won. These days though the sponsers seem to have a lot of say in who they want in the car.

Hopefully they can work something out for a AJ as I really feel he can win in Nascar.
Here is the latest:

Best Buy has moved their sponsorship from RPM #43 to the #17 Matt Kenseth car for the 2012 season. They will be the primary sponsor on that car.

A. J. Allmendinger has been released from the #43 RPM car. He just today signed with Roger Penske and will drive the #22 Dodge for the 2012 season. Primary sponsorship will be from Shell/Pennzoil.

That leaves the following big name drivers still looking for a 2012 ride:
David Ragan
Kurt Busch
David Reutimann

The following cars do not have a driver for next year....yet:
#6 Roush Racing (no sponsor lined up, future in doubt)
#43 RPM (no sponsor since Best Buy left, but sounds like that car will race in 2012)

And silly season continues......

Cat In The Hat may have to dig into his own pocket to keep the #17 running for a full season. If he would quit crashing airplanes, would be plenty of money to fund that team.
That's funny marcisdave. ESPN reported this morning that Busch had a second meeting with Petty officials about taking the 43 ride. So we will see soon I guess.
Just saw on jayski.com that Kurt has turned down the 43 ride and may run his brother's Nationwide team next year.
Kurt "radio sweetheart" Busch just signed with Phoenix Racing #51 for the 2012 season. I predict he will have a meltdown in the 1st half of the season and will get shitcanned by owner James Finch.

Am also hearing that the vacancy in the #43 car will be filled today. Perhaps David Ragan will get that seat.

Good drivers still looking for a ride:

David Reutimann
Brian Vickers
Breaking news:

Sources are now saying that Aric Armirola is getting the #43 ride. The source says that the announcement will be made after the holidays along as well as who will sponsor him.

Sources are also saying that M&M's and Joe Gibbs racing are asking Kyle Busch to not run any truck or Nationwide races next season.

More on this as it developes.
