Here is a article on the company that is supposed to start remodel of the Lady Luck.

Fith Street Gaming to take over remodel of Lady Luck
Did they ever cancel their outstanding chips? I remember talking about this before, but age is getting the better of my memory.

Yes.

Wow, the Lady Luck might restart their remodel and reopen!

Does anyone really care? Are there people waiting with bated breath for this to happen?

I'd imagine the folks at Hogs and Heifers are certainly waiting with bated breath, as are the hundreds of Asian junketeers who made up their clientele.
I know when I had a Lady Luck Gold card...which I didn't deserve at the time....I abused that card like no one in the history of the Lady Luck. Got free suites, bottles of booze and great dinners, free smokes, and never gave them the action that deserved those comps. Best part was the free breakfast in their gourmet dining room. We ate there even when we weren't staying there because all you had to do was show your Gold card. We even brought guests to eat with us. When it wasn't a made to order breakfast, they had a great buffet breakfast. They had the best bacon in the world.
Meanwhile, the Plaza is set to reopen next month. You can see pics of the new rooms on their website. I'll be booking a suite there in December.
I found them really good for comps, as a tourist. some low limit blackjack play for only an hour or two always got me show tickets and food comps. I remember rooms coming with free breakfasts too. And they even sent me a calendar in the mail for a few years. A good low limit play. Can't say I personally care if it reopens though. Besides, there are so many online casinos I can play in (as a non US citizen). I wonder whether Vegas will see decreases in visitors when the US Govt finally gives in and allows internet casino play for citizens?

Probably not any less than currently. Access to gambling is pretty much close to anyone nowadays, vegas is more than just gambling,IMO anyway. I'm only 5 hrs from AC and have only geen there a few times. Vegas is a stand alone destination in and of itself.

I had one of my most memorable Vegas trips staying there one time. I was on the staying there when they had that big rain/flash flood " thinking 1994 " I was on 24th floor, rain gushing over the streets deep enough to move some cars, was able to elevator down before power went off. They had generator powered the slot machines etc. We the guests couldn't for awhile leave so they opened up the bar to us and carted around subway type sandwiches for free and everyone partied like it was " 1999 "
