Lake tahoe

Also, the restaurant at Camp Richardson located on the lake is very good. Although in Jan., it may to too chilly to enjoy lunch outside on the patio.
Just spent most of last week at SLT, and things have gotten really slow there the last few years, what with the recession and the spread of Indian casinos in California. The Horizon is not dead yet, it may have new life in the near future. According to two employees that I spoke with, the rumor is that when all the legal wrangling ends and the lease expires, new management intends to inject new life in the place and return table games in 2014, we shall see.

Harrahs, Harveys, and the Montbleu continue on, although do not really care to gamble in them. My first choice is the little Lakeside, popular with locals and savvy visitors. Blackjacks still are paid at the normal 3-2, not the ripoff 6-5 paid at the other joints, and they have perhaps the longest crap table I have ever seen, with minimum bets usually at $5.

What used to be Bills has been commercialized, and a drugstore, tattoo parlor, and hamburger joint now occupy the space. Imo, this has cheapened the ambiance of the casino area, and do not care for these changes.
+1 on Lakeside, we really liked that place. Good to hear it's doing well.
