It's a little long.

No, it's not me.

Played poker with this guy once. slightly interesting seeing the world through the eyes and mind of the younger generation.
Linky no worky
Fixed it.
I used to enjoy coupon runs. Haven't done one in years. Probably have 90 percent of my LVA and ACG coupons left.

I used to really like them too.

The wife and I would make a contest out of them and see who could save the most and win, or not lose, the most.

Having most of the gambling coupons for "new players only" ruined the match play runs.

I've also found that as I get older and feel my mortality I realize I "can't take it with me" an am slowly becoming less 'cheap'.
Fifteen years ago, I'd come here with a BR of about $1,000 for a week to ten days and the coupon runs could make the trip. I still remember the epic $25 MP at Rampart, then the biggest bet I'd made on a BJ table.
I stayed with 18 and the dealer took five cards to tie me. I thought I'd lost and was walking away when the dealer told me I'd pushed. Next hand was a pair of 8s and the dealer had to call the pit guy over to determine if I had to bet $25 or $50 to split. $25 it was, and of course I drew a 2 on the hand with the MP. Same question, same result- $25. Dealer was showing a low ca, forget what. I ended with 19 and 17. Dealer turned over a card that gave him 11, and with no tens on the board, I figured I was screwed. Nope. Won them all, and got the heck out of Dodge.
Now I mostly use the BOGos for dinner. Haven't even used the free drinks at Ellis Island this year. I do use the weekly $10 MP for the Longhorn thats in my local shopper most weeks
It's been a long while since I've been to Vegas. (2009).

I was, and still am a Casino Promotion Whore. I would base my trip on sales and coupons, and my coupon runs and abuse of match plays was rampant. It was not unusual for me to use 5-6+ match plays in a single casino during one visit. Different pits made that easy. I would visit a casino each shift to use coupons. Over one "long" trip, I used about 1,000 match play and FSP coupons. I "socially engineered" several hundred "Fun Books" from one downtown casino, they were given to guests at check in. Each had a $10 mp +

And, I did it all without a car! Used the RTC, free shuttles, etc. It was not unusual to visit more than 20 casino's in a single day. One day I recall 32 visits (& revisits on different shift).

I thought of my planning and execution as a job, and devoted a minimum of 8 hours per day, everyday. Than I'd go play poker, my game of choice.

I chronicled my adventures on this forum with some lengthy trip reports.

And I did abuse those coupons and offers. Planet H had a $25 match play and free hat, when you filled in a credit card app. I did that every day. Twice. They did not ask for an ID. One day the "girl" let me fill in one for my "significant other" as well. Very lucrative stop. VEG
Casino Royal had the promo sidewalk slots. They were good for several $5.00 mp's daily.

I have fond memories of Vegas in 2009. Very fond.

I do not think I could do it again. Too difficult in this day to double dip enough offers to be profitable enough to pay for airfare and rooms.

Nice VLOG. He seems pretty entertaining - I'll have to check out a few more of his. Thanks for sharing.

Generally my goal is to get enough payback out of the coupons to pay for the rental car and that usually works out with a few extra dollars to spare...until this year. Rental cars are getting to be insane.
But the biggest problem I have now is that I like to eat at new places. Its hard to justify blowing 30 bucks at a new restaurant when you have a book full of discounted restaurants/buffets and $100 of food comps at the hotels.

yea-----getting good deals on rentals becoming difficult-----looks like demand exceeding supply
Ah yes I remember Roadtrip's coupon runs. I used to look forward to every installment. To me Roadtrip is/was the king of coupon runs. I could do 3 or 4 casinos a day and that would be with a rental car. Roadtrip did 20 casinos a day by bus or shuttle. I don't know how he could find the stamina to do it but he did it (lol). This is one of his many trip reports;

BTW what happened to Ramper?
