Las Vegas April 14-16?

So the better half and I are booked for the Tropicana April 13-16. We got a great deal with expedia for under 980. Ive been checking rates on expedia and now the same trip is 1,500 -1,600. same flight and all, plus Ive checked the Tropicana site to see if I could get an upgrade on a room but they are all sold out except for a deluxe room (which we have) or a deluxe room with a view. Any one have an idea whats going on in Vegas that week?? Thanks.

national association of broadcasters convention is in town then.

I notice the Broadcasters always pick this week because I think this the third year in a row I have seen them.. It is a Vacation week from school in Boston.

Not really a big deal unless you are paying for a room or have to go near the convention center.
