Las Vegas football

People wanted Vegas talk and I am all into football kickoff right now, so...

It seems to continue to move forward, do people really think we will get it done this time?

My favorite spot so far would be the area between town square and south point. It would be ideal. Easy access from highways and airport. Easy connection to monorail. Would actually help out the monorail. As well as making it connect to airport as well. It would be on the actual Las Vegas strip.

I try to not get my hopes up and was giddy to get a go for the hockey because I felt it opened doors. But I did not think they really had this much in the works. It seems both Adelson and the fertitta's are throwing their power, name and money in the ring. Surprised mayweather isn't trying to get in on the action with his money and local presence. The funniest was the news reporting wayne Newton wanted into the action. Umm, he is bankrupt and doesn't even own his house. He has what money to buy in with????? Lol. He just wanted on the news.
Sorry - I did not see your thread. It looks like we are one step closer with two possible site choices - Bali Hai golf course (sounds like your choice) and on the Wild Wild West site, just west of the I15 and New York, New York.

I agree, this would be a good thing......and the Raider fans would be a good fit for Vegas!

This would get fans from several states attending. I also believe that the hotels would lease most of the luxury suites. I know I will come into town once or twice to see games every year. As I stated on a post a few months ago, coaches will probably want to have their teams stay out at Lake Las Vegas in order to avoid all of the temptations that LV will have to visitors.
I asked you then, and I'll ask again, what states do you think people will come from?
Eastern California and Southern Utah are sparsely populated. Arizona has its own team, one that doesn't draw well when it's losing.
While I don't expect there will be a problem selling tickets, I don't see any of those areas being the key.
I'm a long long time NY Giants season ticket holder. My tix have been in the family since the 1950s. I also belong to Big Blue Travel, a group of Giant fans that travels to road games. A typical road game attracts a couple hundred fans, some games generate over a thousand. I'd imagine a Vegas game would attract at least that.

The point most make is that the visiting team would travel for a Vegas home game in much better numbers than any other. I would say in record breaking visitor numbers. I know that Wisconsin has always been on unlv (a horrid non football program, albeit one they are trying to develop quickly for this deal, thus why bishop Gorman coach picked it up two years ago anyway), but believe me if ohio state was playing unlv. It would be unlikely that any locals were able to get tickets. Same for Vegas nfl. Double interest in the game and a side vacation. Two for one.

Gambling is now online anyway, so I think that it is a non issue. Betting on sports can be done many ways in today's society. As for partying. Any city is just as much likely....Atlanta, Miami, nyc. Bad athletes are going to be bad athletes no matter where you out them. Lol. Oh Johnny football spent more time in Vegas than in Cleveland. Lmao.
I would think that lots of people would go there for a game to see their team. Not sure if it would be good for the Raiders with 30-40 % of the fans being for the other team. Being a Viking fan and living in Louisville we go to games in Cincinnati, Indianapolis. Nashville, St Louis (until now), and we would go to Vegas when Raiders / Vikings played. Normally there are 15 - to 40 % Viking fans at these road games.
Yes. Vegas people would be sold out. Just saying, lots of tourist dollars too.
Vegas would attract 50000 Packer road fans, no ands ifs or buts!

A few less than Steelers road nation. It's pretty often one can see a sea of black and gold in the stands on any road game, especially televised ones.

My little brother is a season ticket holder and has actually traveled all over the country watching games. Personally I think he's absolutely nuts for driving to Atlanta(example) and back in one day to watch a game, but that's him. Also he's too cheap to get a hotel room, go figure, more power to 'em.
I know when Seattle would play there you'd have a pretty sizeable group of fans coming to games.
