A couple of things one it is not cosmetic as he can’t work or leave the house regularly. He also gets home healthcare no doubt paid for by the government. As far as to why didn’t he just take antibiotics if you read the article you will note he sought treatment at the ER at the onset of his condition, they gave him antibiotics, and when they didn’t work determined it wasn’t an infection that could be treated with antibiotics. They sent him home and told him to make an appointment with a Dr.

It is just another way our health care system is pennywise and pound foolish. The surgery would have been safer, less costly and more effective if they had done the surgery immediately after they found out the antibiotics weren’t doing the trick. The guy didn’t have the funds or insurance to seek treatment outside the ER and he could no longer work when they told him that. So the guy waits to qualify for Medicaid, gets disability and now needs $600k worth of treatment because his condition got worse. One way or another the government is going to pay for it as the article indicated the condition is getting worse and eventually it will become life threatening whereupon he will once again be admitted to the ER and by law the hospital can spare no expense in trying to save his live even if it costs millions and millions of dollars. Until then the taxpayers will continue to pay for his disability, medical care, and apparently home health care.

Mail, I sure as hell don't know about you, but I would have been screaming once it got over baseball size at the worst. There is NO WAY IN HELL I would let a condition like that go until one of my testicles weighed in at over 100 lbs.

Note: I don't have insurance, so I am well aware of the options open to the person in the video.

Dude read the article he went to the ER right away after it happened. They sent him home, told him they couldn’t do anything, and that he would have to make an appointment with a Dr. Doctors won’t perform surgery on you without $$$. The only help he could have gotten would be if cut his own nut sack off.

The only thing unusual about this story is the nature of his illness. Folks walk around with cancer and everything else growing in them until they qualify for Medicaid. That’s just how “the best health care system in world” works.

That's what the emergency room is for. At some point it goes from an "elective" to something that has to get treated.
