Las Vegas Trip Report Day 1 and 2

It's been a couple of weeks but finally getting back her to share my long weekend in vegas. Didn't do the picture thing this time around because i wanted more time for me and family to get out more! Anyways i had 5 days comped at the Orleans casino starting march 24th. This was mom birthday and we usually go around this time. By the time we checked in we hit the casino floor.

Day1
We just stayed local around the casino since we were on a 4-5 hour drive so usually i will chill around the casino.. We decided to go to the orleans buffet, Here's a general idea of the dinner spread:
-Fresh and cooked seafood: crab, shrimp, clams, crawfish, sushi, you name it.
-Chinese: stir fry station, noodles, spring rolls, etc.
-American: ribs, steak, etc.
-Mexican: burritos and such
-Several different pastas
-Soup
-Salad bar
-Dessert bar with a gelato case!
SWEETS: The desert bar/station will satisfy any sweet tooth! Diabetic and all! I'm so happy to say that they have a whole sugar-free dessert section for all you health nuts and diabetics. I like to eat and sample sugar-free desserts every now and then, and these desserts are scrumptious. This buffet dessert station may quite possibly have the best tasting sugar-free banana cream pie I have ever tasted! It tasted better than many regular banana cream pies I've tried!

After dinner we hit the casino floor in full force, mother going to her favorite WOF 0.25 machine while i hit the craps/roulette table. We both came out losing, Mom just couldn't hit or get a spin on the WOF to save her life down $-300 and me on the tables down about $150. We decided after 3 hours of play to call it a night because we wanted to get up early and head downtown to Dupar's for breakfast and check out what's new..

Day2
So were off to downtown to Dupar's for breakfast! Acrouse i had to have my pancakes. If you haven't had them before they are by far the BEST pancakes i ever had along with bacon, eggs, hash brown and ham. Mother had the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes which was also good. Dupar's is connected to the golden gate casino and after dinner or whatever you can just walk out straight to the casino floor and do your thing.. So we decided to hang out an hour and play, after an hour i hit $700 dollars on the flaming 7's but still no luck for mom losing another $150, after we starting going in and out various casinos playing a bit here and there hitting $100-$200 jackpots and build up my bankroll to $1,100 dollars at the end of the day. Mom broke even from her orleans lost the previous day! Then as we were walking back to the truck i hear some kids coming out of the plaza casino telling their parents how good Pop up pizza was so i knew this would have to be a stop on my list tomorrow, so we head back to the orleans and called it a day .
Boy...does Dupar's bring back memories of morning breakfasts in Los Angeles. Probably one of the oldest coffee shops around. Wasn't Pulp Fiction filmed in one of their coffee shops? "Stay calm Honey Bunny!"

Glad to hear you made a great comeback on the machines for both you and your Mom. I was reading your thread to Faye, and just as I was about to announce what the Orleans buffet had on their menu....she asked if they still had the crawdads. Boy could she eat a ton of those. Have you eaten at their Prime Rib steakhouse yet? I heard it was very good. If I'm not mistaken, they are in that upstairs loft. It was also an Italian restaurant at one point in time, and I think another steakhouse when they first opened.
I haven't eaten there since they were Bay City diner, but it bothers me that when I look up DuPars menu online...there are no prices.
I like to know what to expect.

Thanks for the report....
