When my folks passed away some 10 years ago, me and my three brothers met at their house to split up the "tangible assets". You know, the beds, jewelry, furniture..............stuff. Without going into the details of the "rules" that we developed in advance, at times these rules allowed for an impasse to be correct with games of "Rock, Paper, Scissors". We did all of this while having cocktails, and their was lots of tongue in cheek trash talking and lots of laughing.
It baffles when when families fight over stuff like this. We laughed and had a wonderful time. I got some of the stuff that I wanted, I didn't get some of the stuff that I wanted, and we all went home very happy. My parents would have been proud.
