Let us hope that this doesn't happen for the upcoming NFL season

Well, drmilled, you are certainly welcome to your opinion. And although I agree that "there is a lot more to life than the NFL", having the NFL makes me happy and makes my life even fuller.

I LOVE watching the NFL games, I LOVE going to the actual games every year, I LOVE dressing up in my crazy get-ups for the games and the sports bars.....so I hope The Players, The Owners, The Union, The Agents all get their selfish/greedy acts together so I (and millions of others) can watch and enjoy the games!

and...DonDiego is driving me CRAZY right now moaning every day about "missing the Fantasy Draft". I NEED the NFL so it will keep my retired husband busy for 6 months out of every year! lol.
You see, you can't get Don Diego riled up about any politics. However if you make fun of his Eagles or Cardinals, he might come unglued.

Why does drmilled say this like it's a bad thing?

Meanwhile, the "cartel" (owners) and the "pushers" ( players) are squabbling about how to split up the money.

Oh please, get of your high horse! It's a Vegas website for goddsakes and yes most of us are addicts in one way or another.

I, for one, love fantasy football so they need to come up with something, pronto!

Btw are you on the rag...lol?

Silverton is flying me into Phoenix to see the Giants play the Cards. Wow is them if I miss this trip. Don't get an opportunity to see my BAGIANTS play out here.
Personally,i'm still in the camp of 'screw 'em', i don't really care if there is a season(well,i kiindaa sortaaa do) but if those greedy bastards can't come up with a deal, thne fine. If they're that greedy to lose an entire season of that kind of dough then they desrve to lose it. I'll find something else to do.

A question to those here who do play fantasy football, can you give me a little idea have how to do it? I know you have a draft and such,so you have your players, what then? What leagues do those here play> can i join one of them? If I'm going to play, would like to play with those who know so when i screw up or say/do something stupid and get laughed at,at least it'll be by someone i know, and not some strangers. Any reply here or PM I would really appreciate as it would be something i might like, and i definitely have the extra time to do it now. Thanks!

JOHN
The more fans that I talk to in our group are mostly saying WHO REALLY CARES WHAT THEY END UP DOING. If they do sit out any part of the season it will be an instant replay of MLB. Fans are right at the top of the food chain when it comes to Professional Sports.

Say, the League specifies a 15-player draft and a 9 player team. Each week jatki99 will select from his 15, 9 to play as specified by the rules, f'rinstance, 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, & 1Defense(D). (n.b. In the real world players have bye-weeks; jatki99 would've considered that when he drafted his 15 players; he wants to have an active player at each position each week.)

Each week jatki99 may trade players with other teams. He may also drop a player in exchange for a player not owned.

Each week each team faces one other team. Each player and the D score points based on detailed League rules, f'rinstance, TD=6pts, FG=3pts, 1pt for each 10-running-yards, 1 pt for each 25-passing-yards, 2pts for an interception by the D, etc.

The League will specify how many teams and the weekly schedule. The number of teams and structure of the league vary: e.g. there may be 10 individual teams or 3-Divisions-with-4-Teams-each or something else.
The Season may comprise anywhere from, say, 10 to 17 weeks; most leagues don't go to week 17, because in the real-world top teams may rest their best players. Playoffs among the top teams usually take 2 weeks.

DonDiego has played on CBS Sports and the NFL. He's only played free games; they are totally free, no charge, no money exchanges hands, no remuneration to/from/by either party. But one may play for money; each player contributes one player takes all; sometimes overall prizes too for best players in all the leagues.

If there's a season, DonDiego will likely play. He'd welcome jatki99 to play in his league, because he loves playing against newbies.

DonDiego would not be averse to playing in a league comprising LVA Fora participants. However, he really hates when players quit in the middle of the season; it's unfair to the other players because it affects the outcome; an un-managed team usually loses benefitting those who play it. So if there were an LVA-League and there were a quitter, DonDiego would mock him, . . . forever.
